The most disliked episode of Star Trek - Part Three

Okay Trek fans, "least disliked" has concluded, so now it's time for the opposite. The basic idea here is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your favorite or the one you deem the 'best.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you play again. Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

Always liked "The Tholian Web" and its ties to a pretty nifty two-parter some thirty-seven years later help its cause retroactively too.

For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky

Removing "Spectre of the Gun", it's a good period episode and suprisingly works as a Western.

Kirk beds down yet another hot alien, while on speed.

Bravo, Captain, bravo.

Removed "The Savage Curtain" because it's a great little episode that features appearances from historical characters. Lincoln in particular stands out and his exchanges with Kirk are really well done.

Jeeeeep? Did you use the learning device, take out Spock's Brain and then forget you had done it?

Removing "The Empath", the third season's best episode.

Whom Gods Destroy
The Mark of Gideon

Removing The Empath: The episode has lot's of flaws but I still enjoyed it especially the performances from the big 3 and the beautiful performance from Kathryn Hays.

ToddPence beat me to it so I'll remove Elaan of Troyius. As a boy I had a huge crush on the Dohlman, think I touched her tears. That and the introduction of the D7 Class Battle Cruiser.

Removing All Our Yesterdays: Kirk's story is lame, but Spock's story is very moving- you gotta love it whenever he gets passionate - and I really like Zarabeth. One of my favorites from S3 alongside The Tholian Web, Is There In Truth No Beauty? and The Empath.

"The Cloud Minders" -- starting to get into the realm of 'cool concept, iffy execution'.

For the World is Hollow... allows DeForrest Kelley to do some great work, and is one of the more interesting eps left regardless.

Plato's Stepchildren
The Mark of Gideon
That Which Survives
The Lights of Zetar
Requiem for Methuselah

Whom Gods Destroy - it's fun and not too cheesy (especially not by S3 standards) and Garth and Martha are interesting characters. Plus there's the classic 'shoot us both, Spock' moment.

Plato's Stepchildren
The Mark of Gideon
That Which Survives

For introducing us to a term that would become all-important many years later, "The Lights of Zetar". Memory Alpha, anyone?

I've always thought The Mark of Gideon is a bit underrated - it has some really great ideas even if the story direction and execution are a bit...questionable sometimes.
