The Most Disliked Episode of PICARD, 2023 Edition - Season 3...

Welcome to our bi-yearly 'Most Disliked Episode' games! Now that the 'Least Disliked Episode' games hosted by BlueStuff (who inspired me to create these games, so thank you very much for paving the way) have concluded, we can begin the opposite side of that coin.

Here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your most favorite or the one you deem the 'best.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win. Pretty simple. Enjoy!

Without question, this was the best season of PICARD. While the overall story had a few issues, it truly delivered on its promise... to be the ending the TNG crew deserved. (Unlike the travesty of NEMESIS.) That's something neither of the other 2 seasons did, so I'm not surprised season 3 is looked upon as a success and so favorably by so many.

My first save is the finale, "The Last Generation".

While I hated that the Borg were used... yet again... I love how this tied everything up for everyone. Watching the Enterprise-D on screen again was just such an indescribable joy.

Coupled with all the great moments and funny lines ("And I will make it a threesome." "Do you ever hear yourself?"), it was an ending that really fully stuck the landing... the first season of either DISCO or PICARD to do this.

I think aside from one or two issues with pace here and there, and using the Borg for the millionth time, this was a brilliant season. The ending TNG should have had in the films - shame on you Nemesis. :brickwall:

I'm spoilt for choice, but the amazing return of Ro Laren in Imposters is my first save. The return that I had been anticipating since she left to fight for the Maquis, and the tension between Ro and Picard over that was palpable.

Also thrown into the mix was the changeling paranoia thread, making it interesting that Ro was the official on the other side. Very compelling episode.

Now this is more like it - what a season! I'll save Võx for the iconic return to our beloved bridge.

Saving "The Bounty" only really for the Starfleet Museum. Great seeing all of those classic Starships again. Seeing the Enterprise-A again was a highlight!

While it wasn't the best episode this season, The Next Generation was a cool way to open the season. The introduction of Jack and the mystery of his paternity drove it well, and what was happening to poor Bev?

"Disengage"
"Seventeen Seconds"
"Dominion"

Saving "Seventeen Seconds".

Riker's explanation of those 17 seconds, mirroring Picard going in the turbolift, was well done. Despite the fact Beverly looked really bad when she was explaining why she kept Jack's existence from him, that was still a great scene.

Great tension throughout the episode.

"Disengage"
"Dominion"

it's probably average at worst, yet Dominion would have been my winner too. I think Brent Spiner did a great job constantly switching between Data and Lore, but the Changeling conspiracy thread became a bit beige.
