This is a twist on a game that is played here, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I am very curious to see the results.

Here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your most favorite or the one you deem the 'best.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, wait six hours and leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win. Pretty simple. Enjoy!

My first save for the series will be "THE ANDORIAN INCIDENT". The introduction of Shran was awesome, and having Jeffrey Combs play him... genius move! Good story, well acted, and well directed by Roxann Dawson.

Instead I'll save "Silent Enemy", which I also think is a fabulously tense hour. A great episode for Archer, and the alien threat is so authentically menacing.

[Farscape One]

A tribute to Roxann Dawson's skill as a director... the first two episodes saved this season are the two she directed for season 1.

And the final Winrich Kolbe (who directed 50 episodes, more than anyone except David Livingston, and 1 of only 6 people to direct every spinoff except DISCOVERY) directed episode of the franchise, "SILENT ENEMY", was saved. That and "VOX SOLA" were going to be my next saves, but nice to see I am not alone in my appreciation of those episodes.

I will have to wait longer, as I am still under the 6 hour timeframe.

I will save "BROKEN BOW" next. I have always hated the Temporal Cold War, but take that out of the pilot, and it is excellent. Well directed, we get some good character establishments, and it really gave a bit of the sense of wonder that we haven't seen in STAR TREK for a bit at that time. I thought Scott Bakula being cast was an excellent choice, and made a worthy addition to Captain's table.

I saved Shuttlepod one , Reed and Tucker bonding over T'Pols bum plus drinking whisky - very funny and well acted.

I'm going to save Fight or Flight. It hits on some of the things I really wanted Enterprise to focus on, but which disappeared pretty early. It's slightly weird and creepy, it feels dangerous and unexpected, and it shows us that there can be long stretches of boredom before something interesting happens. Plus, I think they handled Hoshi's struggles with her role well.

I really like "Strange New World."

I believe this is when Enterprise built a new cave set? Or at least substantially refurbished the old one. That alone makes it a winner, the knowledge I no longer had to look at the exact same caves that had been used for every alien planet over the accumulated 21 years of TNG, DS9, and VOY.

Also, it's like a good "Naked Now." An early ep in which the crew falls under outside influence that causes them to act crazy, but this time it works! "Strange New World" manages to use the device to reveal character, rather than just obscure it with pointless, flashy, horny weirdness. (Which, you know, is also fun, just not right after the pilot)

I am saving SHOCKWAVE, because of it's cliffhanging quality. I mean Archer in the future in the middle of rubble! And the idea of an un-equalitarian society where it's the men who are the underdogs for once and have to fight their way up to equality.

DEAR DOCTOR for me. The first episode in Enterprise that really toys with the idea of/need for a Prime Directive. Does Archer make the right choice? Does Phlox make sense? All up for good discussion which is always good in Trek.

A "FORTUNATE SON" he is. Despite the execution falling a bit flat, and the not so great acting of Mayweather, I like that this episode was trying to show other aspects of human civilization during this era.

Geez, there's one guilty pleasure ep left on this list I hope I can save later, if someone else doesn't claim it first. But after that, everything else is some degree of bad-to-mediocre!

I like CIVILIZATION, perhaps because Archer didn't get all "first directive" on them for no good reason. He just saw an injustice and did his best to correct it, without compromising anything.
