The most disliked episode of DS9 - Part One

Okay Trek fans, "least disliked" has concluded, so now it's time for the opposite. The basic idea here is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your favorite or the one you deem the 'best.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you play again. Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

Babel
Captive Pursuit
Q-Less
Dax
The Passenger
Move Along Home
The Nagus
Vortex
Battle Lines
The Storyteller

And I'll save In the Hands of the Prophets - IMO the second truly great episode of DS9.

Babel
Captive Pursuit
Q-Less
Dax
The Passenger
Move Along Home
The Nagus
Vortex
Battle Lines
The Storyteller
Progress
If Wishes Were Horses
The Forsaken

Woo DS9! I'll save Emissary, as it's one of the best Trek pilots. Up there with The Menagerie.

So that's pretty much all the excellent episodes gone...

Past Prologue
A Man Alone
Babel
Captive Pursuit
Q-Less
Dax
The Passenger
Move Along Home
The Nagus
Vortex
The Storyteller
Progress
If Wishes Were Horses
The Forsaken
Dramatis Personae

I'll save Battle Lines - DS9 really began to find it's voice here.

Past Prologue
A Man Alone
Babel
Captive Pursuit
Q-Less
Dax
The Passenger
The Nagus
Vortex
The Storyteller
Progress
If Wishes Were Horses
The Forsaken
Dramatis Personae

I'm going to save Move Along Home, it gets way more hate than it deserves.

Past Prologue
A Man Alone
Captive Pursuit
Q-Less
Dax
The Passenger
The Nagus
Vortex
The Storyteller
Progress
If Wishes Were Horses
The Forsaken
Dramatis Personae

Saving Babel. I found it quite funny.

Past Prologue
A Man Alone
Q-Less
Dax
The Passenger
The Nagus
Vortex
The Storyteller
Progress
If Wishes Were Horses
The Forsaken
Dramatis Personae

Captive Pursuit - Another early example of DS9 starting to find it's voice.

Past Prologue
A Man Alone
Q-Less
Dax
The Passenger
The Nagus
Vortex
The Storyteller
If Wishes Were Horses
The Forsaken
Dramatis Personae

Saving Progress - another turning point for Kira, who got a ton of development in the first season. And I really liked Mullibok - he struck a perfect balance between antagonistic and sympathetic.

Past Prologue
A Man Alone
Q-Less
The Passenger
The Nagus
Vortex
The Storyteller
If Wishes Were Horses
The Forsaken
Dramatis Personae

Wow, we lost Move Along Home and Babel so early?

I'm saving Dax, as I really enjoyed it. I liked how Jadzia was trying to honour the memory of someone that she didn't even know, purely because of Curzon. It began to define what it meant being a Trill, which, for Jadzia anyway, didn't seem to happen too much whilst she was around.

My problem with Dax (other than that it's a Dax episode :p) is that it begins the tend of essentially having the Curzon personality overtake the Jadzia one. We learn so much about Curzon but comparatively little about Jadzia herself.

Past Prologue
Q-Less
The Passenger
The Nagus
Vortex
The Storyteller
If Wishes Were Horses
The Forsaken
Dramatis Personae

A Man Alone - a nice early character piece for Odo.

Q-Less
The Passenger
The Nagus
Vortex
The Storyteller
If Wishes Were Horses
The Forsaken
Dramatis Personae

Past Prologue: Introduction of Garak.

Q-Less
The Passenger
The Nagus
The Storyteller
If Wishes Were Horses
The Forsaken
Dramatis Personae

Out you come, Vortex. You don't belong in there with all those other episodes

Q-Less
The Passenger
The Nagus
The Storyteller
If Wishes Were Horses
The Forsaken

Ugh.... down to the dregs of the season. I guess I'll save Dramatis Personae. It's corny as hell and meaningless, but it's the best remaining.

Q-Less
The Passenger
The Storyteller
If Wishes Were Horses
The Forsaken

The Nagus - Ferengi comedy episodes would generally only get worse and worse, but this first one wasn't too bad. I was still excited to see Wallace Shawn show up at this point.

Q-Less
The Passenger
If Wishes Were Horses
The Forsaken

The Storyteller - because I enjoyed the first O'Brien/Bashir link-up, even if it was just average.

Q-Less
The Passenger
The Forsaken

If Wishes Were Horses
- I liked the two versions of Dax. And, it's better than Troi, Q or Siddig's weird acting.

Q-Less
The Passenger

The Forsaken had some nice moments. I like Lwaxana when she's toned down and vulnerable. Certainly better than the two episodes left.

The Passenger

Hmm, I guess I'll save Q-Less then. At least some of the Q humour was funny, even if it was misplaced. Wish they had done this on TNG really and left Q off DS9.

The Passenger wins/loses! Siddig's acting is terrible in this one, and is in my bottom four of the season. I would have had If Wishes Were Horses, Babel or Move Along Home be the outright stinker though. :)

Drat, missed the first round for my favorite show!

I would have had "Move Along Home" for the ultimate loser with "The Passenger" very likely right behind, personally.
