Game The Most Disliked Borg/xB Episode

The End Is The Beginning is a decent enough episode, with the best bit for me seeing Hugh and the rest of the ex-Borg trying to live. There was a bit too much of an introduction to Picard's place in the world at the beginning of the series, whilst there were only 10 episodes, but there you go. ;)

TNG Season 6: “Descent, Part I”
PIC Season 2: "Mercy"

(A Borg/xB contest? Admit it, @Sakonna , you just want VOY to catch up to DS9 in the standings!)

I didn't want to say so while the game was still going, but I kind of thought Picard would take it. :)

Even as much as I loved Picard season 2, I do think "Mercy" is the weak link.
The plotting of that Guinan & Picard in custody thread is just too absurd, it really takes me out of it. Though the best part of it is the Borg part -- damn, does Alison Pill perfectly do Annie Wersching's Borg Queen. She channels her exactly!

This one flew by!

I concur on all points. :techman:

Btw, I have the Borg Fan Collective on DVD, and really like the selection. Though they should have nixed Endgame in favour of episodes like 'Unity' and 'Hope and Fear'. But I think these collections were chosen through internet fan votes, so there's some unfortunate overlap between them all.

ENT: "Regeneration
TNG: "Q Who"
TNG: "The Best of Both Worlds"
TNG: "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II"
TNG: "I Borg"
TNG: "Descent"
TNG: "Descent, Part II"
VOY: "Scorpion"
VOY: "Scorpion, Part II"
VOY: "Drone"
VOY: "Dark Frontier"
VOY: "Unimatrix Zero"
VOY: "Unimatrix Zero, Part II"
VOY: "Endgame"

Endgame starts off promisingly enough with the scenes in the future, but it falls apart in the second half when the Janeways talk about having their cake and eating it too. Making obvious a storytelling cheat so that they can make it home, and destroy the Borg Unicomplex is too on the nose.

Also, the lack of resolution for the crew making it home is stupid as well. Did the writers get confused with the scenes in the future and thought that would be enough?

Chakotay/Seven was a bit out of nowhere, though again, after Seven's hologram where she dated Chakkotay, there could have been an actual buildup of them starting a relationship. Sure it would have been as weird as Worf/Troi, but at least it would have made sense when watching.

They did this so many times on Voyager. After "Before & After", they got confused and thought there was nothing left to show with Kes. After "Course: Oblivion", they thought we didn't need to see the real Tom/B'Elanna wedding. That was one of the most frustrating Voyager moves: you loved the fake-out, so why bother with the real thing?

Incidentally, "Endgame" was the 2020 winner of this game.

No kidding! That's three I've completely missed!

Well, next one is going up now: "The Most Disliked Episode Directed By David Livingston." Hope to see you all there!
