Which one of these "squads" of minor charcters in Voyager would you have liked to seen in more episodes than one?


The Maquis Quartet (Dalby, Chell, Gerron and Henley) from The Learning Curve?

The Equinox Survivors (Gilmore, Lessing, Morrow, Sofin and Tassoni) from the Equinox two parter?

The Misfits (Mortimer, Bill and Celes) from Good Shepherd?

Definitely the Maquis crew: Dalby, Henley, Chell and Gerron.

I'm surprised and dissapointed that we didn't see any more of them in other episodes. They were good and interesting characters.

I didn't care that much for the Equinox gang. Ransom was the only really interesting of them.

As for the "misfits", it was so long ago I saw that episode so I hardly remember them, only Celes because she was played by the same actress who was Jennifer Coates in JAG.

I liked Celes, because she was such a sad sach. So there would have been some foom for character development in her case. (Actually Celes was also seen in The Haunting of Deck Twelve, but never mind that.) I also liked Mortimer, because he represented Starfleet officer who had had no intention whatsoever to become a space exploler and his resentment towards Janeway was interesting to see. Poor Billy also had a spine to grow.

I would have also liked to seen the Maquix gang from Learning Curve and I did expect in some extent to see them again. Chell did his comeback on season 7, though.

And I would have liked to see Equinox bunch too.

Well, these four Maquis never interested me much.

Billy, Tal Celes and Mortimer Harren - especially Mortimer Harren - would be great to see in more eps, but alas! Fortunately there is a very nice Mortimer Harren ff story that is actually a character study...

I like the Equinox survivals either, especially Marla Gilmore but also Noah Lessing. What have they done aboard Voyager after Equinox ep? Have they earned the Captain's trust? There was a Marla Gilmore story in Distant Shores, I enjoyed it immensely. Lessing is often to see in fanfiction, mainly because of the impact of Janeway nearly killing him on her later behavior.

I picked the "Misfits", I like Tal Celes (I'm seriously thinking about repainting my Bajorian Seska 6 inch figure). But I am also interested in Mort Harren, I would love to see a fic with him trying to work with Seven of Nine.

Ditto. It drives me crazy that, for a ship that has a finite number of crewmen and cannot rotate off or transfer any of them, they had so few developed secondary characters.

Ditto ditto! I liked the show a lot, but this is one of the things it really missed on. But I voted for the Maquis over the others because their integration into the crew should have been a much more important part of the show. They are, after all, one of the things that distinguish Voyager from other Starfleet vessels.

The Maquis were created for VOY IIRC, and Ds9 ended up doing more with them.

I absolutely adored the Misfits. That is probably one of my favorite episodes. Those characters were so awesome and refreshing and would have been an amazing part of the main crew.

And, the one young Maquis kid in the "Quartet" was really hot. Would have liked to see more of him. And, I love bolians. They're such pretty aliens.

The Equinox addition would have been fairly awesome to see more of, too, expecially the blonde girl because her character had been so well developed in Equinox.


Basically, I picked all three.

Somedays I think Voyager would have been twice as good if it were more like DS9.

I just wanted to say we did see members of the Maquis group in later episodes. Chell was seen in two episodes and referenced in five episodes (he was also a main character in the Elite Force video game but it doesn't count).
