The Measure of a Man (Extended edition): definitive?

Only within the last month did I become aware of the extended version of The Measure of a Man. While I won't go so far as to say it is "knock my socks off amazing", I did enjoy the extra meat on the bone. Still, I'd like to get your opinion...is this reassembled version of TNG's seminal episode unquestionably superior to the original network television cut?

The only way another version of that episode would be superior is if they actually used multiple actors of varying ages to represent Jameson rather than use that horrible fake-looking old man makeup.

The Blu-Ray episode clocks in just shy of fifty-eight minutes. I was highly surprised when I saw that there was roughly twelve extra minutes of footage.

Whenever I watch that episode I will always watch the extended cut. I really wish they had found other episodes that had extended cuts and put them on the blu ray. New TNG content from the cutting room floor would have been amazing.

Is there something wrong with me? I bought TNG blurays years ago to my sister as a birthday gift but so far I haven't checked out the extended version. Interesting. Also I must say that she wished she would get those boxes, I didn't force TNG down her throat. =)
