A little known movie first released in the UK: The Machine has a fairly common plot: Machine developed, used by the military against the creator's wishes. I like the fact that it deems the machine of value above and beyond the in-the-box thinking. Certainly such machines are going to be debated as they come into use in the next few decades. I'd like to see more serious explorations into these facets, but this recent series of lower budget movies is a start, and bigger budget movies by Spielberg and Roland Emmerich could bring such explorations more into the public consciousness.
