Forget Die Hard. The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996) starring Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson is a better Christmas film.
TLKG is more Christmasy all around. It begins with a Christmas parade in one of those idyllic small towns. There's snow everywhere. We hear an Elvis Christmas song as the scene plays. And there's Geena as mom and schoolteacher Samantha Caine, taking part in the parade as "Mrs. Claus." We see her waving to the townfolk. Teenage boys yell, "Mrs. Claus is hot!"
Soon there's a Christmas party, followed by a terrible accident that causes Samantha to change. Another personality takes over. Samantha disappears, and CIA assassin Charly Baltimore is reborn. Charly is a trained killer, someone you'd never invite to a school picnic.
Samuel L. Jackson shows up as seedy private investigator Mitch Henessey. Mitch doesn't like Charly, and gives her some advice:

There it is. A terrific Christmas message, to go along with all the explosions, gunfire, profanity and death. This is the perfect action film for the holidays."Call your fucking kid! It's two days to Christmas. She might be under the mistaken impression Mommy gives a fuck!"
