The Legend of Zelda TV series

Link does talk, but we never hear it or see it. Plenty of characters will respond to Link like "Oh, Death Mountain? You don't want to go there." implying that Link asked about Death Mountain.

One of my favorites (in A Link to the Past) is when a character says to Link something like, "I believe you." As there's no clear indication, I'm thinking, what did Link say just then? Probably something like, "I am a hero."

The only Zelda games I've played are a little bit of Ocarina of Time, and all of The Wind Waker, but I know enough to know this has a lot of potential. It seems to be a pretty complex world that could lead to some great stuff if done well.
This will actually be the second time we've seen live action Zelda, although the first time was a joke trailer IGN put out for April Fools years ago.

I think live action is a good idea simply because animation has been done before. What's coming to mind is Lord of the Rings. There was an animated movie, but it doesn't compare to the spectacle of live action.

True - I'm not saying it's a bad idea. It's just that there will have to be a lot of special effects/CGI for them to use most of the Zelda universe. Zoras, Gorons, most of the enemies Link faces, flocks of murderous cuccos (chickens) after Link shoots an arrow at one, etc.

Either way, I'm curious to see how this all shakes out.

Yep, the last couple of games (Skyward Sword and Link Between Worlds) they've clearly show him talking and waving his arms around at times he's explaining stuff to someone else - we just don't see what he's actually saying. It's kinda just a little quirk of the series at this point.
