The Legend of Zelda Live-Action Movie

Honestly I'm a little disappointed they're going live action. I think it would be better animated, preferably something like the cel shaded 3D art style in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Written by Derek Connolly, also known as Colin Trevorrow's bobo co-writer on the Jurassic World trilogy.

Surely, nothing could go wrong here.

I've already got a fan casting going:

Louis Hofmann as Link
Elle Fanning as Princess Zelda
Jason Momoa as Ganondorf

I have always felt Link should be a relatively unknown actor. The guy I have picked for him is obscure but has done a few shows and movies here and there, and he friggin' looks JUST LIKE Link, or at least Ocarina of Time Link. He's also a year younger than Tom Holland, who seems to be the general consensus to play Link. I was having trouble casting Zelda but a friend suggested Elle Fanning and I tend to agree with her. As for Ganondorf, I wanted someone rugged, tall, muscular, and who could balance both a sense of smug superiority and cold, calculated strategy. Throw in a dash of madness and I can seriously see no one else except Jason Momoa as Ganondorf.

I want to see the pay me for the door repair charge guy explored.

How did he get sealed up inside a mountain in the first place?

How did he survive in there? What was he eating?

Why is he so unhappy to be set free from his entombment?

Door repair? WTF are you talking about dude? There was no door!

There's a door now !!!

I understand the fan reflex of wanting to see an animated world like the ones in the games, but I can also get why a studio might want to try for live action.

The fact of the matter is getting American audiences to care about animated films tends to be a very dicey proposition, especially for a studio not already in the audiences' good graces. A Zelda movie could maybe pull it off. Or maybe not.

Meanwhile, a live action LoZ done properly could potentially go over like TLotR with general audiences. Especially since its been two decades since they've gotten something high quality in that vein and we're at a point in cinema now where audiences really seem to be looking for something new and fresh (which somehow often seems to translate to old enough to be nostalgic but highly differentiated from the output of the last decade).

I'll try to give it a chance, but I have a hard seeing how the traditional look of Link from the video games can translate to something that doesn't look kinda 'silly' in a live-action movie.

I don't care one way or the other, however, they have to give Robin Williams daughter a cameo as Robin was a huge fan of the game and named his daughter after it.
