The least disliked episode of ENT - Season One

This is a game that we play every few years or so, and it's generally a lot of fun, providing a chance to mentally revisit those episodes you may not have thought about in a while. With that in mind, why not play again?

So, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters, and wait at least 6 hours after your last vote, before voting again.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win.
Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

Rule of Acquisition #287: There is no need for a Ferengi episode in Enterprise, and especially not one that tries to depict them in the same way that early episodes of TNG did.

Acquisition violated that rule, so out it goes!

I am making "OASIS" disappear. Holograms that advanced over 200 years before TNG, let alone VOYAGER? I could never get over that. And the episode is too derivative of DS9's "SHADOWPLAY" for my taste... and DS9 honestly did it better, despite having Rene Auberjonois in this version.

I can't believe Acquisition was the first one removed. It's such a well done episode.

This is fun, just this summer I rewatched all of Enterprise season one, several episodes (like the one I'm about to off) I had never seen, so it's all fresh in my mind.

Fallen Hero! I was shocked by how bad this was. It seems like it should be on all the Worst Trek Ever lists. All the stakes are about this planet we know nothing about and never see, the plotting and all the reveals are totally clunky, none of the characters actions or story logic holds up to the slightest bit of scrutiny. A total and complete waste of a fantastic guest star.

Unexpected. This was really scraping the barrel just a few episodes in. Male pregnancy? I know they played it for laughs but it just wasn't very funny.

Dear Doctor, please see yourself out of here.

Prime Directive episodes have a patchy track record at the best of times, but having a Prime Directive episode that not only takes place before said directive even exists, but has Archer and Phlox proudly proclaim how moral they are for letting an entire race die out... yeah, it's bad.

What are you people doing?!?! Unexpected?! Dear Doctor?! Acquisition?!

I can't watch!

It's "UNEXPECTED" that our "DEAR DOCTOR" met a "FALLEN HERO" on an "OASIS" while roughing it on a "ROGUE PLANET" searching for his latest "ACQUISITION"...

Fortunate Son may be a great CCR tune, but it's not a great Enterprise episode. Too much Mayweather for my tastes.

Terra Nova, because it reminds me of an episode of Hercules, or the Elephant Princess, ...or something.

Sending the "COLD FRONT" away. I never liked the Temporal Cold War or the episodes centered on it.

Two Days And Two Nights. It's not as terrible as I thought the first time I saw it, and it's better than DS9's Risa excursion, but it still doesn't ultimately work. The episode is just overstuffed with stories, and so none of them have time to develop adequately.

Shadows of P'Jem is outta here. Following up the events of The Andorian Incident was a nice idea in principle, but in practice it basically ended up being 40 minutes of Archer and T'Pol tied up together in a shed and arguing, while further turning the Vulcans into strawmen as as to make the humans look better.

I will let "SLEEPING DOGS" lie. There are better episodes from the remaining list, and this and one other are the two weakest.

The Andorian Incident
Breaking the Ice

Lots of Archer/Trip toplessness is still not enough to save the snoozefest that is Desert Crossing.

I liked a lot of them, but the one that introduced the Andorians - really for the first time, as characters worth mentioning - is a particular favorite.

Now it's at the point where it's tough to make a call! I'm going to go with "Detained", which is a story I basically like, but it's hampered by some overly simplistic moralizing and too much screentime for Mayweather. Anthony Montgomery, for my money, is the single worst actor to ever be cast as a series regular in any Trek series (Beltran and Wang over on Voyager are a close 2nd & 3rd).
