The Least Disliked Episode 2025 - DS9 Season 6

So, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favourite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode just because you feel it would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win.
Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

Taking out "THE RECKONING".

It is one of the only episodes in the franchise that gets WORSE with every viewing. It has replaced "PROFIT AND LACE" as THE worst episode of DS9, and a strong contender for worst in the franchise.

Sisko is ready to risk Jake's life for that battle. That goes COMPLETELY against his character and one of THE fundamental core elements of the series... him being a great dad.

Dax had the solution of getting the Pah-wraith and Prophet out safely, but instead of going for it as soon as he saw Jake possessed, he goes on about 'the Prophets will protect him'. Didn't look like much protecting was being done for Jake with blood coming out of his eyes, nose, and ears. This was such a colossal insult to Ben Sisko's character, and I absolutely abhor this episode.

When you make Kai Winn look like the reasonable and heroic person out of our heroes... you really screwed up as a writer.

Profit and Lace, it's offensively bad. Do I have to go into more detail? The episode plays gender reassignment surgery as a joke. Sexual assault? Also a joke. I refuse to rewatch it.

"Valiant" just does nothing for me. It feels like too much of a tangent, Nog off dealing with all these new characters. And Jake completely recedes from the narrative. He's just there, he doesn't do anything. It's so frustrating, as Jake really needed more & better material at this point of the series.

Honestly, I wish they'd just given us the actual mission they used as setup: Jake & Nog go to Ferenginar! I want to see giant Cirroc navigating all those low-ceiling sets as the only non-Ferengi on screen!

I have taken out several MU episodes and I am going to do so again. "Resurrection" brought back a character who was dull in the Prime Universe and no less dull in the MU. MU characters need to stay in the MU where they belong.

Honour Among Thieves is easily my least favourite on this least. Second least overall for the season after Valiant but that was already blitzed. It's just so boring and that weird "don't tell me you don't like girls" line just feels odd.

A minor tangent but I think Profit and Lace is misunderstood. Yes it uses having a sex change as a joke but sex change is not treated as a joke. There's a misunderstanding farce element to it but no one behaves in any transphobic way. Brunt is outraged he's being cheated but everyone is very accepting. Nilva has no issues with a trans woman, as she is a woman and that's good enough for him. And it shows anyone can freely have a sex change operation in the 24th century without it being an issue. You want to transition? Cool go ahead.

"Time's Orphan", what a dog of an episode. Trying to heal her extreme trauma is hard, so let's stop and dump her into an eternity of solitude on some abandoned planet. Great plan guys.

Sons and Daughters is the worst part of the Occupation arc.

The Worf/Alexander stuff wss poorly portayed.

"Change of Heart" is one of those episodes that make me wonder about the competence of Starfleet command. Why did they think its a good idea to send a newly-married couple on a risky mission? Having said that, I'd have expected Worf to do his duty anyway so I feel this is out-of-character too. (There's the minor factor that Jadzia dying here would have been a much better end for the character than what she got)

To be fair, it was Kira, not Starfleet, who sent a married couple on that mission. But that was a bad decision on her part.

Taking out "STATISTICAL PROBABILITIES" on behalf of my wife.

She found the Jack Pack annoying.

Of the remaining Wrongs Darker than Death or Night probably shines with ever so slightly less lustre than the others. Kira would have assassinated her mother and Dukat with no thought to the timeline. I mean Dukat is no one to mourn but who is to say that would not result in a worse outcome for everyone.

Also why no comfort men? I mean outside of the sexuality argument in which it was the 90s and they were scared, Cardassian women serve alongside the men.

"Tears Of The Prophets" was a poor death for Jadzia. And implausible. A sudden desire to thank the Prophets? Like, have Dukat invade the station in a more noticeable way and she goes there to stop him! Something!

Inquisition and Pale Moonlight should have been in a different order, but no category for that.

I'll remove "Rocks and Shoals". I saw it once, found it really depressing.
