The least disliked episode 2021 - TNG Season Two

BlueStuff

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
Our addictive biyearly game of rapid elimination returns - now able to include Disco's third season as well as the debut years of Picard and Lower Decks. It's generally a lot of fun, providing a chance to mentally revisit those episodes you may not have thought about in a while. With that in mind, why not play again?

So, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode just because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win.
Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

Shades of Gray

I'll just go ahead and remove Shades of Gray - it's not even really an episode, just a pointless clip show held together by an extremely flimsy "plot." Riker even somehow "remembers" scenes he wasn't present for!

Up the long ladder is out, the way the space irish are portrayed is super offensive, I'm surprised Colm Meaney didn't run of fthe set screaming. Then Riker and Pulaski murder their clones and the irish get to bone everyone on clone world to spread their DNA and save the world ... it's an absurd episode.

Up rooting Time Squared. I've watch this numerous times and it still doesn't make much sense to me. Just sort of a concept without a plot.

"Samaritan Snare" goes. It makes Riker look incredibly stupid, and the Pakleds are not really menacing.

Plus when the clone leader says something like "These people are disgusting" the Irish guy to prove how wrong he is, spits in his hand and expects the other guy to shake it!!! Appalling!!!

The icing on the cake is Picard murdering his "time clone"... Looks like murdering clones is the new black...

It's hard to choose a bad episode when there are so many left!!! The worst one is likely "The Royale". It's just stupid I mean how does Riker or anyone else know that the story wouldn't just start over? After all, it had lasted for centuries without end!!!

An idiotic situation with an idiotic solution, in a way it fits.

The episode definitely sucks. But, as a person of nearly 100% Irish heritage....I didn't find it offensive at all.

People get offended too easily these days.

"Manhunt" goes bye-bye. Lwaxana episodes are trying enough....but this is a horribly boring and inconsequential episode even for one featuring her.

"Contagion" never did much for me. Not sure why. I guess it' s liked by a lot of fans, but it doesn't do much for me.

Bad parenting, an obnoxiuos guest character, and Data jokes. I'm a 'noid it's still on the list. The Outrageous Okona has been spaced.

It's outrageous that "The Outrageous Okona" is still on the list. It goes because of the main plot. I actually liked Data trying to explore humor, but that couldn't elevate the terrible main story.

"The Schizoid Man" is grating and completely uninteresting. I've never been a fan of the "main character's body inhabited by another lifeforce" episodes...and also not a fan of "Data episodes" either....so this one is a double-whammy of meh.

Writing off "Pen Pals." This episode marks the beginning of an interpretation of the Prime Directive that drives me mad: that our supposed heroes can't interfere with "fate" or "destiny" in the event of a natural disaster. As Pulaski points out, if you're going to worry about "fate" or "destiny" you could just as easily assume that fate placed you in this spot so you could save peoples' lives. Thank goodness for the emotionless android's compassion -- and that Picard isn't quite enough of a bastard hard-hearted enough to ignore a little girl's plea for help.

"Peak Performance" is antinomic... The plot is idiotic, everyone is obnoxious, "doctor arrogant" wishes to teach someone a lesson in humility, maybe she should start with herself...

Data didn't win, he just used his machine ability to be able to perform a boring task a million times to wait the guy's out. That's definitely not something that elevates his status as a "sentient being"!!!

There are no peaks in this episode only chasms of annoyance.

"The Icarus Factor", like the Greek character this episode is named after, falls to its death.

Kyle Riker just rubbed me the wrong way.

"The Dauphin" is the clichéed story of the princess who wants to live like "a normal girl" that we've seen thousands of versions of. This one has nothing to make it remarkable.

Where Silence Has Lease just for the awkward scene where Picard explains the afterlife while trying to avoid mentioning religion...
