The least disliked episode 2021 - TAS Season One

Our addictive biyearly game of rapid elimination returns - now able to include Disco's third season as well as the debut years of Picard and Lower Decks. It's generally a lot of fun, providing a chance to mentally revisit those episodes you may not have thought about in a while. With that in mind, why not play again?

So, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode just because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win.
Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

My thanks to @Farscape One for handling the game for The Animated Series in the past. I believe the below list of previous champions is accurate.

Good Morning!

I would like to recommend TAS to anyone who hasn't seen the show.
Yes, it's not perfect, but it is Very good. For one thing, the animation allowed for non-humanoid aliens that would have been impossible in live action.

Anyway, that said, I'm afraid I'm not going to win any friends with this vote.
I'm afraid I'm going to vote against "Yesteryear." I know it's a fan favorite because it explores Mr. Spock's character,
but I never did care for the notion that Vulcan Children were as petty, violent, prone to bullying and illogical as Human ones.

Sorry but the Not-So-Jolly Blue Giant has to go. Giant Vulcans? Sheesh.

"The Magicks of Megas-Tu" makes itself disappear!! That's quite a trick.:D

Here’s Mudd in your face. Sorry, Harcourt Fenton, but 2 TOS episodes with you was too much. Hasta la vista, baby.

More Tribbles, More Troubles. A completely unnecessary sequel that rehashes way too much from the original episode, Cyrano Jones, Koloth, even grain as a plot element. Even the title is a variation of the original and the giant tribble is really just a bunch of tribbles in a bag, so even the tribble trouble is almost the same in the end.

It's Elementary that I going axe an episode that I always have to look up when i read the title.

Beyond the Farthest Star
One of Our Planets Is Missing
The Lorelei Signal
The Survivor
Once Upon a Planet
The Terratin Incident
The Time Trap

The Slaver Weapon
The Eye of the Beholder
Jihad

(don't mind me - not voting, just adding a 'the' to Jihad since I originally didn't realise that was the episode's name. Someone's going to remove it with the next vote, aren't they?)

Beyond the Farthest Star
One of Our Planets Is Missing
The Lorelei Signal
The Survivor
Once Upon a Planet
The Terratin Incident
The Time Trap
The Slaver Weapon

"The Slaver Weapon", because of the stupid way Uhura keeps running...

Well, there's also the pink warriors and the dumb females.... need I say more?

I looked it up and I still don't remember it. so farewell to "The Jihad." Sorry, @BlueStuff!

Tiny, tiny tiny is out as well. Air molecules people.

Beyond the Farthest Star
One of Our Planets Is Missing
The Lorelei Signal
The Survivor
Once Upon a Planet

The Time Trap
The Eye of the Beholder

"The Lorelei Signal", regardless of the fact that it was the first and only time Uhura got to command the bridge. The only highlight of that... cartoon.

Beyond the Farthest Star
One of Our Planets Is Missing
The Survivor
Once Upon a Planet
The Time Trap
The Eye of the Beholder

"The Time Trap" is probably Kor's least distinguished appearance -- and, speaking of appearance, the animated version of him doesn't look much like John Colicos. Or sound like him either (sorry Jimmy!).

Beyond the Farthest Star
One of Our Planets Is Missing
The Survivor
Once Upon a Planet
The Eye of the Beholder

Even transforming into a deflector shield won't save The Survivor this time. Silly episode all around.

Once Upon a Planet

Giant Vulcans? Sheesh.

It so happens the only Trek script I ever laid eyes on was for "The Infinite Vulcan" (with a semi-fancy cover page). It was being sold at the only Trek convention I ever attended, when I was an 18-year-old college student - Americana Hotel, NYC, January 1975 (so perhaps word of the show's cancellation had not yet spread). I don't know if its author was around, but I did get to meet James Doohan.

Once upon a planet because it's kind of screwed up how Kirk of all people convinces a sentient AI to not leave the planet and instead learn by talking to visitors. Why doesn't Kirk go back to earth and talk to visitors then? Kirk just wanted to keep their vacation spot running, it was completely selfish.

Beyond the Farthest Star
One of Our Planets Is Missing
The Eye of the Beholder

"THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER" goes. Only because I like the other two better.

Beyond the Farthest Star
One of Our Planets Is Missing

One of Our Planets is Missing is gone because Beyond the Farthest Star has the most original space ship design in the history of Trek.

Beyond the Farthest Star

We probably could have combined Season One and Two together since there isn't much of a Season Two...
One of Our Planets is Missing is gone because Beyond the Farthest Star has the most original space ship design in the history of Trek.

Beyond the Farthest Star
I like that non-corporal entities are affected by the magnetic force of dead suns and planets...:vulcan: This explains Star Trek: The Final Frontier. :rommie:
