The least disliked episode 2021 - ENT Season Two

BlueStuff

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
Our addictive biyearly game of rapid elimination returns - now able to include Disco's third season as well as the debut years of Picard and Lower Decks. It's generally a lot of fun, providing a chance to mentally revisit those episodes you may not have thought about in a while. With that in mind, why not play again?

So, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode just because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win.
Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

I'll kick things off with eliminating "PRECIOUS CARGO".

Do I really need to explain why this episode gets taken out?

A Night in Sickbay, because of the continuity error it causes by implying that Vulcans don't keep pets, clearly contradicting what we saw all the way back in TAS.

Oh, yeah, and the fact that it's a generally abysmal episode which makes the main character look like a complete ass over a completely avoidable and ridiculous conflict.

Cogenitor because it feels like an early Voyager episode and because Archer acts like a complete ass when he chews Trip out that he would never act like that ... no Archer, we've seen how you act, this is exactly what you would have done in every other episode but this.
Maybe it really was a rejected Voyager script that they pulled out of a drawer because if you replace Trip and Archer with Tom and Janeway it suddenly makes more sense.

A season that is just as bland as S1. The TCW wasn't the best arc, and Shockwave II is a terrible follow-up to a half-decent S1 finale.

"HORIZON" sees the dark now. Mayweather is just dull here, and so is the whole episode.

Star Trek's worst season. There's maybe 4 or 5 in the whole year I don't loathe.

"Marauders" is painfully stupid. The whole climax, I've rarely seen such clunky, awkward staging in anything.

Bounty is gone for the juvenile T’Pol stuff.

"Dawn" because two enemies stranded on a planet and who must cooperate to survive, has been done to death and it's not even an original StarTrek, to begin with.

Stigma. Even by the standards of how this show tended to depict the Vulcans, this was a trainwreck.

"FUTURE TENSE" goes. Despite the obvious DOCTOR WHO reference, it is part of the Temporal Cold War. I think everyone knows how I feel about it by now.

"The Communicator" because it would have been far better to leave it there than doing what they've done. The aliens fire more than a hundred bullets and manage to miss every single time!!! While (at the same time) our heroes manage to hit them all with a stun beam!! Then the equipment they got is somewhere nearby on a table instead of being far away in a lab or a safe!!! This could have been avoided if their devices contained a failsafe remote-controlled device that would destroy it with a tiny explosion or a pocket of acid.... That's what you get when the writers think with their feet.

Vanishing Point. The whole "we're a new Star Trek show, so it's okay for us to rip off past episodes wholesale" argument was already extremely sketchy, but I'm not aware of anyone who felt that TNG's The Next Phase would have been even better if it had turned out that the whole thing was just a dream being experienced by Geordi and/or Ro.

"CANAMAR" goes. For an episode with the place as its title, it's odd we never actually see it. Plus, the episode is just so predictable.

Carbon Creek
Minefield
Dead Stop
The Seventh
Singularity
The Catwalk
Cease-Fire
The Crossing
Judgment
The Breach

Carbon Creek has some nice scenes in it, but overall, it doesn't hold my interest throughout the episode.

Minefield
Dead Stop
The Seventh
Singularity
The Catwalk
Cease-Fire
The Crossing
Judgment
The Breach
Regeneration
First Flight
The Expanse

"Singularity" because it's sort of "The Naked Time" and "The Naked Now" revisited and it doesn't really add anything new of interest.

Minefield
Dead Stop
The Seventh
The Catwalk
Cease-Fire
The Crossing
Judgment
The Breach
Regeneration
First Flight
The Expanse

"THE CROSSING" goes simply because I remember so damned little of it, even after multiple rewatches. That tells me it was boring, which is probably the worst thing anything in entertainment can be.

Minefield
Dead Stop
The Seventh
The Catwalk
Cease-Fire
Judgment
The Breach
Regeneration
First Flight
The Expanse

The Seventh. Nice attempt to do something a bit different with T'Pol, but the bad guy just feels under-developed, despite Bruce Davison's best efforts, and the ending's just a little too convenient.

Minefield
Dead Stop
The Catwalk
Cease-Fire
Judgment
The Breach
Regeneration
First Flight
The Expanse

Another dull episode for Shran in Cease Fire. Not even Susie Plackson can rescue this snooze-fest.

Minefield
Dead Stop
The Catwalk
Judgment
The Breach
Regeneration
First Flight
The Expanse

Removing Judgement because it's really just a retread of Star Trek VI.
