The least disliked episode 2021 - ENT Season One

BlueStuff

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
Our addictive biyearly game of rapid elimination returns - now able to include Disco's third season as well as the debut years of Picard and Lower Decks. It's generally a lot of fun, providing a chance to mentally revisit those episodes you may not have thought about in a while. With that in mind, why not play again?

So, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode just because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win.
Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

My first elimination is "COLD FRONT". I hate, hate, hate the Temporal Cold War.

There is so much mediocrity in the first two seasons. Terra Nova is a prime example, so it's the first to go.

Unexpected. Seriously, did B&B really expect anything good to come of a premise that was already pretty hackneyed when Arnold Schwarzenegger did it nearly a decade prior?

Well, here's where I leave the game, since I haven't seen all episodes of any seasons of Enterprise. And nobody can make me do that.
Have fun, everyone :techman:

"Dear Doctor," farewell, and please do forget to write. Because of Phlox's faulty understanding of evolution and his unfounded sociological assumptions, and because for some reason he and Archer seem to assume that "fate" and "destiny" have an actual intent -- they leave an entire species to die out. A species who asked for their help, and whom they could have saved. And then Phlox plumes himself and pats Archer on the back for their elevated "morality."

These are our heroes? No thanks.

Shadows of P'Jem is such a flat follow-up to the awesome The Andorian Incident. Also, don't forget the juvenile titillation of Archer accidentally falling on T'Pol when they were tied up together.

Acquisition. Bringing back the Ferengi was one thing. Bringing them back for an episode that would barely have passed muster in TNG S1? Just... no.

Making sure "TWO DAYS AND TWO NIGHTS" stays on a permanent vacation. (cue Aerosmith song)

Risa didn't work on TWO other series. Third time was not the charm.

It's been two years since we last did this?... I'm having a serious case of missing time here.

There isn't an episode I truly dislike until... Season 4... so I'll just be an interested observer for now. Always fascinating, and usually a surprise, to see which episodes survive each round.

"Detained" because Archer decides to organize a jailbreak, months after he refused to help people dying of a disease on a planetary scale.

So doing what the Tandarans could have considered an act of war and say Klingons definitely would have (and possibly attacked Earth as a retaliation), good, saving dying people who asked for your help and that you have the means to help, bad.

Archer's prime directive...

Civilization is another snooze-fest. And this is the millionth 'oh no, the universal translator is broken!' story on Star Trek by this point.

The Andorian Incident
Breaking the Ice

"OASIS" goes. DS9 did it far better with "SHADOWPLAY".

Sleeping Dogs

Rogue Planet

"Vox Sola"... If I want to see people in slime, I'll watch Ghost Busters and have more fun than with this episode. Plus hey, Reed invented the forcefield... in five minutes... One thing that this episode showed though is that Mayweather is about ten times the diplomat that Archer thinks he is. If they had sent him in ANIS instead of you know who... well, for one thing, we would have been spared one of the most dreadful episodes of the entire series.

Broken Bow
Fight or Flight

Fight or Flight. If the pilot episode left people with concerns about how the show's format was going to work out in the longer haul, having the second episode make the lead character look like a complete idiot with anger management issues was not the way to go about addressing those concerns.

Broken Bow
Strange New World
The Andorian Incident
Breaking the Ice

"SLEEPING DOGS" goes back to bed. I just never liked the episode much. Even I have to agree with my wife about Klingons here (and I'm a fan of them)... they are ridiculous.

Broken Bow
Strange New World
The Andorian Incident
Breaking the Ice

Breaking the Ice... Vulcans are jerks in this series to some extent, I get that, but these ones are especially noxious.

Broken Bow
Strange New World
The Andorian Incident
Silent Enemy
Shuttlepod One
Fusion
Rogue Planet
Fallen Hero

"Fallen Hero" always infuriates me for how completely it squanders it's potential. That episode really could have been something!
