Could someone please help me with a translation? In a key for midges I read that the respective species settles in "genormaliseerde beken". Would that be streams who have been restored to their natural structure? I know that literally it translates as normalised, but I am not sure what it means in this particular context. Normalising could just as well refer to the water level and then it'd be streams whos levels get regulated by dams and pumps - the exact opposite of renaturalized streams.
 
I am inclined in this context that "genormaliseerde" means indeed normalised as in a stream that is following its natural/normal behaviour.
 
Thanks for the link! That's just what I needed. Genormaliseerd in this context means they are built to a common standard (not natural). They got straightened, made broader and deeper.
