"Why does Jacob hate pregnant ladies?"

So we have this crazy island with its ability to make paraplegics walk again, cure cancer (sometimes), and make infertile Korean men fertile again.

But why do pregnant women die?

How much of this has to do with Jacob and MIB? Is it just a fluke of the island, or are these two characters actively causing these weird medical mysteries?

What pregnant ladies? There was no mystery or storylines involving pregnancies or the mystical natures of Walt and Aaron. Not a one. No sir. <waves hand through the air like the writers desperately wish they could do>

Well, as far as Walt goes, I don't think his magical powers are any more important than Hurley's, Miles', or Desmond's. The Others just wanted to study him because they knew he was special, but his specialness wasn't really that important.

I'm still waiting for Aaron to sprout devil horns and start breathing fire.

The thing with the pregnancies is probably still central to the mystery. They touched on it last season, and the Statue is of an Egyptian fertility god. They'll get back to it.

Indeed. Especially with the return of Claire, I feel like the baby thing is going to be important again.

I had the thought that it might have had something to do with Jughead being underneath the island, with its radiation and all.

Amy gave birth to Ethan in the 70's just fine though. It's something that happened after that.
