The Illyrians should be the next movie's antagonist

You know what I think happened with the Illyrians? After everything was straightened out back on Earth, Archer returned to their ship (knowing the Illyrian ship's course and last known location, since it was on impulse power and all) and gave them BACK their warp drive.

Or perhaps Archer sent another ship for this purpose, knowing the Illyrians wouldn't trust him (understandable).

I opened this thread hoping it would suggest a time travel story

'Just say no' to time travel.

Yeah, we don't need more films like The Voyage Home, First Contact, Star Trek, or episodes like The City on the Edge of Forever and Yesterday's Enterprise, I guess?

That's not it at all. I just want something new from the next film and would prefer if there wasn't any time travel. I don't really want to see the Klingons as the main villain, either, although it wouldn't surprise me if that's the next focus.

Several "hell no"s on an Internet forum full of Trekkies and one up-vote from Kolinahr ( :techman: ), followed by tangeant discussions tells me that this is not a workable idea.

I was really hoping for one throwaway line to this effect, especially since the Xindi Aquatics seemed to have pretty damn good ships. "Yo, in the process of saving our own asses we helped stop some baddies who were terraforming your back yard. Can you give some dudes we screwed over a lift?"

Or, you know, some more concern about this in Archer's debriefing, since it was way more morally questionable than killing some zombie Vulcans.

Agreed with the point that this would have worked better as an Enterprise episode.
