Yep, the Johnstown (Charlestown) Chiefs of Slap Shot fame are making the big move from Johnstown, PA to Greenville, SC. It is official. It is the last season in the War Memorial. May Paul Neuman rest in Peace.

the ECHL's Johnstown Cheifs

Hmmm You never see the East Coast teams in the ECHL play here, and the way the Salmon Kings are playing we won't get to see any playoffs this year. In the regular season we only see National Conference Teams here.

Interestingly, the Wheeling Nailers (long-time rivals of the Chiefs) will be playing some of their home games in Johnstown next season.(Link)

Certainly not a permanent solution, as the Nailers are struggling in a small market, too. They're not likely to remain in either city.
