The Greatest show in the Galaxy, weirdness rating.

Where does it rate on your weirdest of all Who stories scale? I haven't seen em all, but this one would be in top 5. 1st time through was hard to follow, why would entertainers be trapped for the weird family to watch? The black guy did decent Rap I suppose.The Clowns were pretty weird. In the end we learn the family is really the Gods Of Ragnarok, but what was their connection to the big eye? & was their only purpose trapping entertainers cause they were bored? Not much of a story. The Master by contrast usually has a more involved sinister plot. Logopolis a good example.

I dunno, what does anyone else make of it. Did I miss something?

Eh, Russell Davies' version of the show the last four years is generally much weirder, and better.

This episode epitomizes what was wrong with late 80's Doctor Who and a textbook example of why it was canceled.

I've only seen it the once, but I remember really enjoying it. Who's first genuinely unsettling episode in quite some time, a nice compelling mystery, and a bunch of great moments.

Costume/makeup people certainly did their work well on it, & had plenty to do. Even the robots were intricate designs. The Eye & Gods of Ragnarok were cool elements of it. The sinister clown & his Hearse lookin wagon nice touches. I suppose visually it's got plenty going for it.
