"Mountain Grown"--like coffee is.
Rule 34. Always applies.Incest fanfic for a coffee commercial. Okay, I learned something new today.![]()
Not to be confused with the Star Trek novels The 34th Rule, which is about a completely different subject.Rule 34. Always applies.
I think what does it are the looks that the two exchange near the end. I don't have a sister myself, but I just couldn't imagine interacting with one that way. Got a gag from my wife when I asked if her and her big brother ever talk or look at each other like that.
People imagined it.Not seeing the creep factor. I didn't in 2009 either.
No creep factor here, no.Not seeing the creep factor. I didn't in 2009 either.
Yeah... that is really racist. With the rise of Nigerians and social media, this commercial, and the company, would get so roasted. (Pun intended).I've never seen that article before. But the weirdest part is the racist dig at West Africa. He can't get a decent cup of coffee in West Africa? AND he considers Folgers to be real coffee? WTF?
Yeah.... waaaaay less creepy and racist.I hate remakes. I prefer the original
I think the problem with that commercial is the actress was old enough to make it seem weird (although, i don't recall finding it odd at the time). If she had been around eight it would have worked better with the dialog. I'd bet the commercial's writer was imagining the little sister to be much younger, since her lines seem more like a little kid excited to have big brother home.
Also - IT'S A FOLGER'S COMMERCIAL. Of course they're going to say it's better than anything else!I've never seen that article before. But the weirdest part is the racist dig at West Africa. He can't get a decent cup of coffee in West Africa? AND he considers Folgers to be real coffee? WTF?
They cut out the racist part.... they could've totally hyped that up tooThere’s an extended cut of the commercial.
Racism isn’t funny, a coffee commercial centered on incest however is.They cut out the racist part.... they could've totally hyped that up too
Or a producer? Much easier to hire an actor over 18 for a day - less paperwork, fewer restrictions, etc. The casting director could have been ordered to hire someone older than ideal.Ok, NOW I see the value of a casting director...
