I could swear one of these existed but I've searched twice in the last week and couldn't find it. Mods, if I'm just blind, feel free to tell me so.

Two pieces of news this week that I wanted to post about but didn't see suitable threads:

Cancellation numbers are in, Max is the most cancelled platform, with about 27% of it's users cancelling their subscription since 2020.

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, so please forgive me if there is another thread that I missed.

Netflix has apparently taken a page out of the Zaslav handbook, and has decided to shelve a movie that had finished principal photography, and was near completion.

The science fiction film The Mothership, starring Halle Berry, has been scrapped by the streaming service. Filming was completed three years ago, but it apparently required a number of reshoots, and Netflix opted to just axe the movie instead of doing the reshoots. (It sounds like there was also possibly an issue with the child actors who played the children of Berry's character, as they had aged too much in the intervening three years.)

They will apparently just be taking this as a loss for tax write-down purposes, and the movie will never be seen.
