The Fitbaw Season 14/15

I'm not sure how many Brits/Europeans are on here or how interested they or others are in the footy (Trekkers traditionally love sport, right?) but in the event that there might be some interest, I thought I'd do a thread for the rest of this season. The league, the cup, Europa league, champions league etc

Another opportunity for City to close the gap wasted but Chelsea don't capitalise (still look Certs for the title though) good result for United and Sherwood has definitely injected some life into Villa

Sat 14th March
Leicester 0-0 Hull
Sunderland 0-4 Aston Villa
West Brom 1-0 Stoke
Crystal Palace 3-1 QPR
Burley 1-0 Man city
Arsenal 3-0 West Ham
Sun 15th March
Chelsea 1-1 Southampton
Everton 3-0 Newcastle
Man United 3-0 Tottenham

Tonight
Swansea V Liverpool

Tuesday 17th March
Athletico Madrid (0) V (1) Bayer Leverkusen
Monaco (3) V (1) Arsenal

Wednesday 18th March
Barcelona (2) V (1) Man City
Borussia Dortmund (1) V (2) Juventus

Champions league

Tonight

Barcelona (3) V (1) Paris St Germain
Bayern Munich (1) V (3) FC Porto

So far Messi and Suarez have been pretty quiet. Neymar scored both and Iniesta is pulling all the strings

Should be more in the second half

Tomorrow

Real Madrid (0) V (0) Athletico Madrid
Monaco (0) V (1) Juventus

Barca and Bayern both through to the semi's (I expect Madrid and and Juventus to join them tomorrow)

I know it from another forum, that there are many trekkies who hate soccer/football. I saw it last year when there was the FINA WC. They weren´t interested, even though Germany won the title.

Consolation goal for Porto.

The referee is sending a player from Porto off the field.

Another goal for Bayern following.....

Currently enjoying a Bayern canned beer, with the face and autograph of Philipp Lahm on it.

The lack of activity on this forums sport board in general would suggest that the stereotype about sci-fi fans being immense dweebs with limited body strength might some hold water. :p

Even the handful of nerds who are willing to talk sport appear mainly to be Yanks with little interest in football so this thread was always gonna struggle

Anyway, two good games tonight (both easy wins in the end)

Full time
Barcelona 2 (5) - 0 (1) PSG
Bayern Munich 6 (7) - 1 (4) FC Porto

Tomorrow's games should be tighter

Real Madrid 1 (1) V (0) 0 Athletico Madrid
Monaco 0 (0) V (1) 0 Juventus

As expected, very tight games

Semi finalists
Bayern Munich
Real Madrid
Juventus
Barcelona

Draw for the semis on Friday - I hope the Spanish avoid each other in the draw

Hopefully nobody is bitten by Luis Suarez. He should be able to refrain from doing so, but you´ll never know.

Bayern vs Real would be nice, though.

Champions league semi final (first leg)

Juventus 2 - 1 Real Madrid

Good game

Barca V Bayern tomorrow should be good too

Good for whom?

I´m pessimistic about Bayern´s penalty performance .

And their sickness absence rate is quite high.

Pep is in trouble. I´m excited all the same.

Lionel Messi has just scored...... :sigh:

... another goal following....

That´s it, I guess. Barcelona for the Finale.

Barcelona 3 - 0 Bayern Munich

Bayern are screwed, I'm glad because I don't like Peps's style. Messi is unplayable

I´m not glad. But Bayern messed up the local Cup semi-final - deservedly so. They dominate the Bundesliga - because the other teams are too weak IMO. They have already won the CL in the last several years, were in finals. Then some players won the WC. Now they are fed-up. Jupp Heynckes performance as coach was masterly at the time.

Time to drink poisonous kanar........

Barca is practically in the final. Is Real able to follow? We will see.

I grant Messi the title. The choice of making him best player last year in Brazil was ill-conceived.

3-2

Good game for the neutral. Terrible defending from Bayern though. Had they been better in that area, they might have had a slim chance. Suarez passed twice for the goals! He neve would have done that at Liverpool

Is Pep going to leave? (Man city keep being mentioned) I saw an interview with him today and his English is unbelievably good.

Juve have a good chance but I hope it's an El Classico final (Messi V Ronaldo)

Pep´s German is also good. The rumor mill is working overtime as to his future. Oh no, it is gossip factory. Whatever.

Kaaaaaaahn is still analyzing, he! (Oliver Kahn, not Khan. Despite the fact that both have a certain agressiveness in common).

Mueller shot a goal while I opened a canned beer with Mueller´s face and autograph on it. I should have opened another one.....

I will call my first real tribble "Neymar" (see also the TOS tribble thread). :klingon:
