Has anyone read The First Star Trek Movie: Bringing the Franchise to the Big Screen, 1969-1980 by Sherilyn Connelly? The author references The Good Thing one of my interests and a treatment prepared by Jon Povill, which I know little about.I just started reading it, but it appears to be a good read so far. I'm very interested in the 70's period prior to STTMP.

I enjoyed Connelly’s book.
Only riffled it so far but the author definitely covers a few aspects of TMP untouched by others.
Interesting -- right now Preston Neal Smith's own ST:TMP making-of book is still pretty much the "definitive" work on the subject, but if this one covers a bit of new territory that even Smith's book doesn't cover (especially in the '70s development-area), then I might have to give this one a look.
