In 2007 I went through an epic Buffy and Angel viewing, watching them all for the first time on DVD. After all that I did look up the movie, though opinions on it were so negative I decided not to get it. If I ever see it on TV someday I may watch it.

I did read the comic adaption of it in the first volume of Buffy Omnibus though.

Yes, I agree completely... you just might be crazy. Seriously, I always thought that Gellar was excellent in the role, perhaps even deserving of an Emmy nomination (or win).

As for the movie, yeah, it's not great. Kaijufan, unless you have an uncontrollable desire to see all things Buffy, regardless of quality, I'd give it a pass. You're not missing much. Joss himself has said that it didn't turn out at all the way he hoped it would.

Hey, she played it the way they told her. I don't know that she's a great actress, but I think there are plenty of other elements to which I can ascribe the shortcomings of the film BTVS.

Best Buy had the original at something like $4.99. I didn't mind picking it up at that price.

I blame Fran Rubel Kuzui for fucking the whole thing up and find her "Executive Producer" credit on every episode of the series an insult.
