The Fate of Christopher Pike

c0rnedfr0g

Commodore
Commodore
Will he suffer the same fate as in The Menagerie, only being an Admiral instead of a Fleet Captain?

Is it his destiny to end up with Vina and the Talosians?

I sure hope not; Bruce Greenwood making it in decent shape to the end was a big plus for me. I want to see more of Pike.

Well it seems it was his fate to
end up in a wheelchair
.

Who knows, maybe he might hook up with Alternate Universe Vina.

I figured they would just kill him. Props to the writers for finding a new way to put him in a wheelchair, lol...

I think his fste was changed. Now it will be Kirk who meets vina. does that mean that Kirk now has the fate of Pike is the question.

I liked the wheelchair bit, and that his admiral's uniform was fairly similar to the TMP admiral's uniform

I love Greenwood, I thought he played the role brilliantly (I say brilliantly but there wasn't much of a comparison). Everytime I hear the name Pike I tingle a little inside.

Well, he is in a wheelchair but nothing says he is stuck there.(if I remember correctly)

Maybe he is weak from his ordeal and it's easier to move around in the chair for a while.
Maybe he is expected to recover fully in a couple of months.

I'm glad he is not dead though. I'd love to see him in the sequel.

I'm just happy to see the Milwaukee born Jeffery Hunter's character played perfectly. Ever since I saw the Cage and found out that the late Jeff Hunter was from my hometown, I've kinda rooted for Pike. And Bruce Greenwood really did a great job with him. I love tha "Punch it!" line. Instead of "Engage" or "Do it." its "PUNCH IT"

I had an ear to ear grin with that. I'd love to see more of Admiral Pike.

Course now the timeline has really changed. If this was the Big E's maiden voyage, and Kirk got her right off the bat, then gee... I wonder if Pike ever even made it to Talos V? Unless he had A Enterprise before this one. And it wasn't until this Big E was scuttled they decided to honor with the A-B-C-D-E?

I liked the weelchair bit, but I did expect it to be temporary, because he should be in sickbay but really wanted to be there. Perhaps he's promoted to Admiral?

I liked that as well, since TNG stole "Engage" from the CAGE. They made a good choice to change it to break the TNG link. Poor Sulu, should have disengaged the parking brake...lol :guffaw:

They said that Captain Kirk was to report to Admiral Pike.

I thought he was dead for sure. I'm hoping they bring him back. Greenwood really impressed me.

They have to bring him back....the actor did an excellent job and I wouldn't of minded if he stayed the cap't of the enterprise...because honestly, Mr. Kirk should not of been promoted so swiftly to such an esteemed postition....they shoulda promoted him in the next movie...years will have passed and I could of bought that more easily...

But yeah I loved the wheelchair thing...I said to my friend now all we need is to hear a few beeps from him and we'll be aiiiight.

I'm glad Pike wasn't put into the beep chair. Greenwood was awesome cool as Pike, and I want to see him back.

I hope you know I was only joking about the beeps...in this movie anyway...they're saving the beeping chair for the sequel.
