The Expanse: A Telltale Series was first announced in December 2021 as a forthcoming title of the revived Telltale Studios. Although not the first title announced by the resurrected company (that was a sequel to The Wolf Among Us), it will be the first to release when the first episode arrives July 24.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series is set before the start of the TV series. Taking the reins as Camina Drummer, players will lead a scavenging crew on the spaceship Artemis, as they rove through the corners of The Belt. Players will face mutiny and conflicting personalities, aboard The Artemis, in this narrative-driven interactive game.

Xbox Wire interview with Deck Nine Games Director Stephan Frost.

“The Expanse has a massive universe with wildly varied settings, characters, and stories,” explains Deck Nine Games Director Stephan Frost. “The writers [Ty and Daniel] encouraged us to explore creating new characters and adding to the lore. There’s a section in the game where we explore what life was like for first-generation belters that we’re very excited for players to see, and that was a lot of fun to explore and create. We have characters fans will recognize and we have some new ones that players are going to love meeting when they play the game.”
