I'm not sure your question as set up would actually have opposing points if the episode is understood properly.
No, "GoodKirk/BadKirk" is just the nickname my kids (own children and I) use. Spock in the show and I in class make the point that the aggressive/dominant is not bad. Neither is Freud's id. In fact in class, I raise the question why the id is often portrayed/drawn as "bad," which leads us into considering the need for group mores and reproductive advantage to cooperating amongst the group.
And yes, to a couple posts after the one quoted, both the aggressive and cooperative Kirks get intelligence (ego), as noted above: we do see violent/dominant Kirk feigning weakness and contrition.
MAYbe a better comparison would be to Jung's ego and shadow and the need to reconcile both and be a whole self. We don't really get into Jung THAT deeply, though we do touch on the archetypes' appearing in SW and LOTR; plus a couple of his classic dichotomies. Id-ego-super is just a much famous-er concept. For kicks, look for it in the Three Stooges (w/ Curly).
Ok, be well.
