The DVD laws...

I think a great DVD set would be the five best episodes (and I am not sure what they would be, so help) where Federation law is seen at its best and in operation. From "court martial" to "measure of a man" or others, what do you think would be the best "five Episodes" of star trek(s) that really either show the Federation law at work, or drive the story.

Right off the bat I can think of the two-parter "Homefront" and "Paradise Lost" from DS9. The Federation, fearing that Changlings have infiltrated Earth, declare martial law. It's interesting how it's still a pretty timely story even today.

TNG The Drumhead should be in there for sure. That's a great legal episode.

Others that come to mind:
DS9 Dax. This one presented an interesting legal issue. (Is a new host responsible for the acts of previous hosts?) Too bad the issue ended up not needing to be resolved, since Curzon had an alibi.

VOY Author, Author. In some ways, it deals with the same issues as Measure of a Man, but it also deals with intellectual property. (Not to mention that Janeway and Tuvok committed legal malpractice by not mentioning the precedent of Data. They would have completely won their case if they had, instead of only partially winning it.)

DS9 Tribunal. Here, we get to see the Cardassian legal system in action.
