Hey all, long time since posting here. Listening to The Orb, a TrekFM podcast about DS9, on episode 39, all about the Dominion. Standard stuff everyone knows and then they say something I never realized. The Search refers to Odo's search for his people AND the search by the Founders to determine what the Federation will do if they invade. A search through Sisko's mind, to find out how far he'd go to stop them. This flips these episodes completely around for me, I always followed Odo through them. It's the Dominion who these episodes are really about I think.
Also, in that synthetic scenario the Vorta used on the crew, the Romulan & Garak & the Federation end up being threats..... JUST LIKE IN THE REAL SHOW in later seasons. That fascinates me. Was THAT planned?
And one last thing, that experiment by the Vorta failed, none of the crew knew about Section 31 yet, so neither did the Founders.
I'm a moron for not realizing this earlier. Just thought I'd share. Wish we had more Dominion eps to analyze.
