The Doctor Who reference that never was

Worf2DS9

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
This is a wee bit off topic, but in last night's episode of Eleventh Hour (the American version, mind), the lead characters Dr. Jacob Hood (Rufus Sewell) and Rachel Young (Marley Shelton) encounter an individual with two hearts. I could almost hear this exchange in my head:

Rachel: Two hearts...This can't be normal.
Jacob: Rachel, unless this man travelled through time and space in a blue police box, then, no, it most definitely is not normal.
Rachel: What??

It would have been funny, but alas, it didn't happen. :D

not having seen the US version, but is it any good? the ITV version with Patrick Stewart was only ok and lasted about 4 episodes has CBS worked this into a decent 100+ episode type of show?

yeah a Who reference would have been good, maybe there was and it was cut at some stage

I enjoy it. This is only it's first season, but it's usually in the latter half of the Top 20, so it must be doing okay. And the leads have an interesting chemistry together, which doesn't hurt.

normally I would be pissed that a US network is remaking a US series, but we got so little of it from ITV, that this feels like it could do alot more than it could ever have done in the UK, I guess that is what happens when you cast Patrick Stewart.

The scripts aren't nearly as interesting as the original, and the female lead is NOT the greatest actress on the planet. So far, it's been mediocre for me. Still, I like Rufus and I'll give this show a chance.

When watching this episode about the corpse with two hearts, I right away turn to hubby and shout, "Hey, he was Timelord!"

His response was something on these lines:

^ Geez... At least my wife was kind enough to give me a courtesy laugh.

I wonder if there were any geeks in the world who didn't make that comment.
