With the same opening as the teaser trailer, Jennifer Connelly would have made a great lois lane.

 

Klaatu barada nikto! The original is a great film, I hope they do it justice.

 

I saw the trailer before The Dark Knight and I was VERY impressed with it.

 

I'm looking forward to seeing this on opening weekend. At Comic-Con, director Scott Derrickson said his film would be faithful to the original in many ways.

I'd be a lot more interested in this if they had someone who could act in the lead... but I won't pay to see Keanu do anything lol... hopefully they don't eviscerate the original too badly.

Well... he is supposed to be an Alien, so his acting skills (or lack of) might be appropriate.

 

To me, he's as passable as most others in Hollywood. I'm looking forward to the movie.

I'm quite looking foward to this one. When I heard about the remake, I went out and rented the original and was really impressed.

Keanu, while not an oscar worthy acor, he's not as bad as some make him out to be. He'll do just fine as Klaatu.

 

I guess I'm too old. This movie may be good, but, it ain't The Day the Earth Stood Still. I'll wait for reviews.

 

Looks to blockbusterized for me to enjoy, personally. Plus, remake syndrome is starting to seriously annoy me.

 

Actually I think it looks freakin' great! I'll certainly be seeing it. I sometimes like how old movies are being rethought for today's audience with modern sophisticated tools of the industry.

 

This is the thrid thread about this but that's ok, I think its worth an extra amount of attention by real SF fans. My opinion is that the trailer looks makes it look like the movie may be a real serious story. We need more movies like this.

Well, I have to see it.

I can only pray it's half as good as the Spielberg/Cruise remake of War of the Worlds.

It will be as well received as the remakes to "Flight of the Phoenix" and "War of the Worlds".

(I have a long history of slamming needless remakes on this board and this one will not go against them...)
