The Dark Tower Could be Adapted as a Series

The headline is clickbait. In the article, there is nothing definite other than Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy are planning to adapt The Dark Tower series for the screen. Even though they now have a deal with Amazon, they retained the production rights to The Dark Tower. Amazon has yet to agree to streaming it. But, this is the closest thing to good news about seeing King's series adapted in a long time.

Every Dark Tower fan (myself included) has been saying for ages that this should be developed as a show, not a movie. 7 seasons, one for each book. Yes I know about the eight book, but I'm talking about the core-7.
Even with 10-12 episode to a season, you're stilling going to have to cut stuff when you to book three, things get so massive. Let alone if you decide to clusterfuck it into a trilogy.

I agree a full seven seasons would be great, and probably still possible. But here it says a planned 5 season series. I am going to guess that Wizard and Glass would be told in flashbacks throughout the story and the Gunslinger merged with The Drawing of the Three to make five seasons with the 7th season mixing Song of Susannah and the first parts of The Dark Tower.

I would imagine they'd have to cut a big chunk of Song of Susannah, because (I could be wrong) I don't see them doing the whole Roland/Stephen King side quest. And I don't see (again, I could be wrong) them adapting the plot thread of hiding Black Thirteen in a storage locker at the World Trade Center pre-9/11.
