The Daily Show - break?

A query from the UK for US posters...
The Daily Show's run on More 4 here, but is off air for the next week for the second time in a month.
Is it off in the States too, and Jon Stewart's just having a second holiday very fast, or is it on as usual (but More 4 dropping it so they can run something else this week)?

Thanks

According to the website, there are new episodes on this week. In fact, as far as I can see there have been new episodes every week since mid-February (the week of Feb 16th seems to have been an off week). I suspect both breaks were just programming decisions by your station, unless you're running a month behind, which would suck for you.

It was, bizzarly, a re-run last night of the Cramer ass-rape, er. interview.

Which confused me. Hope to see a new one tonight.

Most likely he got sick for the day and they had to show a rerun.

The next time he should break is around Easter.

pretty sure he is just taking a planned week off, More4 had scheduled something else in the time slots a couple of weeks back

back on the 30th according to the website.

John most be the only person who takes as many breaks as a Radio 2 DJ

I wish that the show wouldn't take breaks like this it can miss a lot of good material in that time.

If I've said it once, I've said it 100 times. The show needs to extend into Fridays and be an hour long. Both would be awesome.

And then when Stewart wants to take a vacation they can call in a guest "anchor" like Lewis Black, hell bring Kilborn back for that week.

CC could do so much with that show. It's already established itself as a major player with the media and current events so it's high time it steps it up a notch.

God, I would LOVE that. He needs to be on the show more often.

Lewis Black is awesome. I've gone to one of his local live performances and sat in the front row. It was great stuff.

No, we get it current (well, one day behind. That irritating business about the sun being overhead at different times in different continents).
The 16th Feb break is probably the one we had off last month; disappointing if he's on this week in the States, but the Channel 4 group can't be botherered to run the Daily Show (but this is the network that sidelined West Wing and Sopranos, so...).

Thanks for the info!

Something tells me this week's break is because of Stephen's announced visit to the Middle East where he isn't allowed to tell the date for security reasons, so they're probably over there right now filming it.

He works 40 weeks a year? That's impressive. You know he will take a two week break in mid Apple for his kids spring break.

I had never seen that so I did enjoy seeing it but it was weird when I went to see the internet reaction and they were all weeks/days old when my DVR said it was supposed to be a new episode.

Check out the version on TDS' website, quite a bit was edited out for time on the broadcast version.

Yeah, both shows are off this week with no prior explanation. It's possible that Stephen is indeed in Iraq or Kuwait already to film, but I'm not sure.

Stewart is appearing live at my local college Saturday March 28 [at least he better be 'cause I have tickets]. I think he does the Daily Show for three weeks and then takes a week off and practices his Stand-up routines.

Toddlers get Spring Break?
