The CW renews: The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, Legends, Supernatural

Honestly, as someone who dislikes Supergirl Season 1 a lot, Cat, max and Lucy leaving has, in my opinion, let the parts of season 1 I liked get more time and has improved the show immensely. Its now a show I look forward to watching, as opposed to a show I couldn't stand watching past about episode 10 in Season 1. The show is now pretty solid, and a lot better then it was at Season 1. I'd honestly compare it to the jump in quality from TNG Season 1 to Season 3. A mediocre show with a few good episodes is now just a good show. At least, that's my opinion. I hope it keeps this level of quality, and leaves stuff like Max, Lucy and Cat in the past (minus the inevitable Cat cameo a few times a year, I'm sure).

I came across an article about Supergirl moving to Vancouver...

How different will the show be now that production has been moved to Vancouver?

Part of that is the job of the cinematographers and we’ve discussions with them about that. I don’t know how much this was obvious towards the back half of the season, but producing this show in Los Angeles was very difficult in terms of the financials. We couldn’t afford to do all the visual effects and go on location, so there were a lot of episodes towards the end of last season where we never left the lot, so we weren’t even getting the benefit of being in Los Angeles. I would rather be overcast and thus have the ability to go out into some streets, and make this show feel huge and cinematic than having the villain show up at her apartment like four episodes in a row last season, which again I think we got away with it, but I think it would’ve started to feel very small if we continued in L.A. That was one of the reasons that we made the decision to move it to Vancouver, so that we could get scope, so we could go out in the streets. So yes, it might be a little rainy once in awhile, we might be seeing her breath every once awhile, but it’s going to be worth it because the show is actually going to feel bigger.

And this bit about Lucy Lane...

Will Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan Tatum) return?

We hope so. We don’t have any immediate plans, but that’s not because we aren’t in love with Jenna.

I miss her too. When asked if she would be back, she had this to say. She has a dance show coming up but hopefully she can do an episode of Supergirl when time permits. She recently appeared on No Tomorrow which shoots in Vancouver.

I realized that I left one person out of my list of first-season Supergirl characters who haven't returned: teenage Kara, as played by Malina Weissman. Although Weissman is now starring as Violet in Netflix's just-released A Series of Unfortunate Events -- and I had a bit of deja vu when they showed the scene of her looking back sadly from the vehicle taking her away from her destroyed home after the loss of her parents. That seems to happen to her a lot...
