Welcome to the Line-by-line thread!

After each completed thread, I'm randomly picking someone who participated to choose the next episode we do. The lucky winner this time around was brian! And brian has chosen "The City on the Edge of Forever" as our next line-by-line adventure!

For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts.

As before, at the conclusion of this thread, I will pick someone at random from among all the participants to choose the next episode we do.

The Enterprise is on Red Alert in orbit of a planet. The ship shakes randomly

Kirk: Stay on top of it, Mister Sulu.

 

[Enterprise1981]

SULU: We're holding orbit, sir. The helm is sluggish.

 

[LeadHead]

Scotty: Control Circuits are threatening to overload, Captain.

 

[Brian]

KIRK: Understood, Engineer. Mister Spock? We can't avoid these areas of turbulence.

 

[LeadHead]

Spock: I believe we'll have them plotted in a few more orbits, Captain.

 

[Brian]

(boom)

KIRK: Sickbay. To the Bridge.

 

[LeadHead]

Scotty: Switching to manual Captain. Do we maintain this orbit?

 

[Brian]

KIRK: Spock?

 

[LeadHead]

Spock: This is of great scientific importance Captain. We are actually passing through ripples in time.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

KIRK: Maintain orbit. Open the channel to Starfleet Command. Precautionary measure, Lieutenant. Broadcast to Starfleet Command my past week's log entries, starting with the unusual readings we had on the instruments and how they led us here. Inform Starfleet Command that apparently something or someone down on this planet

(McCoy enters)

KIRK: (pointing to Sulu) Bones. Can effect changes in time, causing turbulent waves of space displacement

 

[Vanyel]

Bones: Some Heart flutter. Better risk a few drops of Cordrazine.

 

[Enterprise1981]

MCCOY: Some heart flutter. Better risk a few drops of cordrazine.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

KIRK: Tricky stuff. Are you sure you want to risk

(The hypo is administered and Sulu opens his eyes.)

 

[Enterprise1981]

MCCOY: You were about to make a medical comment, Jim?

 

[Brian]

KIRK: Who, me, Doctor?

 

[Enterprise1981]

SCOTTY: (at the helm) We're guiding around most of the time ripples now.

 

[Brian]

KIRK: Mr. Spock?

 

[JanewayRulz!]

SPOCK: All plotted but one, Captain. Coming up on it now. Seems to be fairly heavy displacement.


(And they hit it just as McCoy still has the hypo in his hand, and the jolt results in him injecting it into his own stomach.)

Kirk: BONES! Back to your positions!
