The Christmas shopping thread

I only have about a hundred dollars left over after food, gas, taxes, rent each month. That left over money in turn has some taken out for an eventual oil change, future car repair, emergency popped-a-tire fund, toothpaste, shampoo, cloths, shoes, other personal items ... and if I just want to fucking buy myself something. I just can't afford to buy Christmas presents.

I don't Christmas shop until about the week before the big day, preferably even closer. It's not Christmas shopping unless you're fighting off crowds for the last item on the shelf and there's a deadline looming.

Mind you, my shopping generally boils down to chocolates for the girls, port for the guys, nice wine for anyone special, and ties or flowers for anyone fussy enough to neither want chocolate nor alcohol.

My family is typically very practical. We makes lists of items we need or want, and share them with one another so that people will get nice gifts that they'd actually use. So far I haven't gotten any lists, or even hints, from the family. Can't do any shopping until I have a sense of what to look for.
