Still not feeling it I'm afraid, which is a shame since I really wanted this show to be good. I'll give it a few more episodes to get good but it'd have to do something very interesting to catch my attention. I mean in this episode, I found myself so bored that I fast forwarded through the fight the the baddie at the end. As much as I might enjoy Summer Glau and Keith David, the main character who's name I can't even remember (how's that for a bad sign?) continues to be utterly bland and uninteresting. Not the actor's fault; like Glau and David he's doing the best with what he has to work with but for some odd reason he's appears to have even less to work with than they do.

I think this show is impatient. they want to start with 3rd or 4th season characters and they're not willing to put the work into the story telling to make the histories, relationships and interconnectivity and gravity between these people there to be any real juice.

Why am I thinking about Kirk, Bones and Spock? they were made out to be tight in the first few episodes and eventually it became ture, but by the time of th movies with out a dight they were brothers.

In the first episode the Carnies were going to cut the heroes fingers and head off and dump his body in the desert... i haven't seem the seeds of such a fast friendship since Chakotay flushed Seven of Nine out an airlock when they first met.

They do seem to be rushing alot of stuff...even though I have enjoyed the first 3 eps...the show lacks the kind of charm that Smallville achieved by the end of the pilot episode and by ep 2 with bugboy...you got a sense of heart....that THE CAPE is laking right now. I still don't think it is a bad show.

I haven't been watching, but is it true that Chess is Orwell's dad? How are they handling/explaining that? Have they been onscreen together?

At least those two actors are interesting. Maybe they should kill off the Cape guy and make the show Orwell's Daddy Issues. :rommie:

They alluded to Orwell being Chess' daughter with the subtlety of a sledgehammer, but there's still a chance it's misdirection.

It was obvious in the pilot when she said that she was "no one special".

I remember reading the Starwars RPG handbook once upon a time before puberty and there was a section just for the Dungeon Masters "Please dissuade your players/characters form discovering half way through the game that they were twins separated at birth fathered by the big bad your adventure is set against."

Summer was born in 1981

Jim Frain was born in 1968

hands up if you could have fathered a child at 13?

Raised unless you were wealthy, probably not, but the physical act of sex with live working sperm?

Why do I think that he raped his 32 year old middle school teacher? Or is it a testament to his charm that he seduced her, a woman more than twice his age... Or did he just put a thousand pounds on her desk and told her to take her clothes off? Unless blackmail was cheaper?

(School for English children at that age are called Intermediates.)

Why do i always go to "rape" first? Any manga no matter how long ago or how little, is too much manga.

Or maybe he belonged to some secret society like the Hell-fire club and they raped and ate the poor all the time during arcane phases of the moon and the constellations?

And lets not forget the bestiality.

Being his "sister" makes more sense.

Summer tends to play younger than her age. She was a seventeen year old in Firefly, Serenity, and Terminator, while her actual age ranged from 21 to 27. You can probably figure Chess is older than his actor, as well (knowing this crew, he's probably in the same age bracket as frickin' Ra's al Ghul).

She's not playing young though, or at least super young.

The super hacking teenager is so bullshit a concept.

He could be playing old however, although for his age he does look magnificent. Dude does not look 42. He could pass for 32.

This episode couldn't keep my attention and the show isn't "must see" TV, so I think I'll drop it.

And the name "Kozmo" had me thinking of Kramer too.
