Some good news for the 23 people who actually watched and enjoyed The Cape (like me): Universal has announced it's releasing The Complete Series to DVD in Region 1 on July 5.

Although the show apparently hasn't been officially cancelled, the blog notes that the title of the set pretty much puts the writing on the wall.
Surprisingly, and disappointingly, it's apparently not being released to Blu-ray. I'm actually noticing a lot of films and TV shows (recent TV shows, I mean) continue to be released only on DVD (such as St Trinians 2 and the part-CG sci-fi film Black Heaven). For example, NCIS Season 8 is showing up on preorder lists, but only in DVD. So much for the format dying! But I'd have liked to have seen The Cape in HD.
