The bowling alley

When did it become definitively established that the Enterprise had a bowling alley? To my knowledge, the only person who ever mentioned it in TOS was a delirious Kevin Riley, and I always used to think he was making it up.

Does the notion of a bowling alley on the ship predate The Naked Time? And if not, what's the first official source that confirmed its existence?

Riley is intoxicated, but he's not hallucinating. Nothing in the dialogue indicates that he made up the bowling alley; what's "crazy" is his delusions of grandeur when it comes to issuing orders for ice-cream socials and such.

One of these days I'm going to work that bowling alley into a novel.

I just saw that episode a couple weeks ago.... I wouldnt doubt!!!!

Im sure not NOT EVERY ROOM ON EVERY FLOOR of the enterprise was in @ least one episode.. (Interesting to wonder)

I think what solidly established the bowling alley in the minds of some fans was Franz Joseph including it in his Starship Blueprints in the 1970s.

I was in the basement of a church in St. Louis once, and they had their own 2-lane bowling alley with automatic pinsetters.

Especially since the moment Kirk finally gets into Engineering, Riley goes "No dance tonight..."

Thanks! That's what I was looking for. :)

The ill-fated, never to be released, PC game "The Secret of Vulcan's Fury" had some artwork of the ship's bowling alley:

I didn't know Bowling existed in the 23rd century. Like Picard said about television was replaced in 23rd century.I wonder did Baseball,Basketball and Football still existed in the 23rd century

Is this the game that supposedly featured De Kelley's last ever performance as Bones McCoy in any medium?

I seem to remember in the 90s there was an unreleased game that featured Kelley's last ever performance as Bones, but it never saw the light of day, at least last I heard.

"Secret of Vulcan Fury was going to feature voice work from ALL of the original cast. William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, James Doohan, Nichelle Nichols, Walter Koenig, George Take and DeForest Kelley all provided their voices for the game. In the past, there has been confusion over whether or not DeForest recorded his lines before he died, but we have confirmed that De did record all his lines from an earlier version of the script. However, as the game progressed, the script changed and De was too ill to come in and record new lines. Maurice LaMarche (Brain from Pinky and the Brain) was then hired to do the new McCoy lines."

And the game and performances have never seen the light of day?

EDIT: Never mind, I looked it up. Less than 5% of the game apparently finished. Wouldn't it be great if someone does a new TAS special with the voices recorded? I want a "thanks Enrique" credit on the show!

The last baseball World Series will be in 2042, according to DS9: If Wishes Were Horses. But it's still sometimes played non-professionally in the 24th century.

NO, Just....no.
