I have been a fan of BBT from the beginning, but the last several seasons have been disappointing for me. In my opinion, the writers have run out of new ideas, the cast members seem to be phoning it in, and for a show that is supposed to be a sitcom, it just isn't funny anymore.

This show is still a huge cash cow for CBS and is slated for at least two more seasons, but I would love to see it end gracefully this season.

What do you think?

It should have ended about season 5-7 range. It's many seasons overdue now. In 2015 an ex would watch it as we ate dinner and after it go "I didn't laugh once".

It's really a sitcom with a set life. I would have married off Wolowitz, Got Penny and Lenard together, leave Sheldon alone and called it quiets years ago.

Now I haven't watched it in awhile but do all the guys still work at the university?

I think I'd like more specifics as to what you've found disappointing, as I find your statements overly-general.

I still watch it every week, out of habit but it needs to end. Almost everyone is paired up, married, and babies are happening.

However, it can't end (for me at least) until Sheldon and Amy get married. Which I'm hoping is this season.

Yeah, while I still watch and enjoy the show, it certainly has gotten more about the characters and their relationships as opposed to the nerd life. I mean, last season they actually decided not to go to SDCC, because they've had enough of it. That's saying something about the show. It used to be about the clash between nerds and "normal people", but it's become a regular sitcom like all the others.

Now, "Mom", that's the Chuck Lorre show that's still got it going.

Do you want a list of every joke that I did not laugh at, or every instance of a half-hearted delivery of a line from Johnny Galecki or Kaley Cuoco?

Like Seinfeld and Friends and Happy Days and every other sitcom that overstays its welcome, sooner or later they get tired and run out of gas, and BBT is over that line at this point, in my opinion. I'll watch it until the end because I'm still a fan, but it needs to end.

I found the last couple of years really tedious, but it's still the most watched show on network TV. Ratings dictate what stays on the air, not the internet.

^ They could have Joe Straczynski in some coveralls putting the finishing touches on the elevator repair on the last episode.

I still enjoy the show for what it is. I do find it humorous that it's being criticized for characters that evolve and move to new stages in life. Would you really prefer the alternative? 10 years later and they are still all single? I thought we were against nerd stereotyping.
