Now, THAT would be a great crossover. Sheldon and Leonard visiting Charlie's university and butting in to one of Don's cases.
But sitcoms and dramas rarely do crossovers. (Although I loved when the writers of Two and a Half Men and CSI each wrote an episode of the others' show.)

it is true that sitcoms & dramas dont crossover alot, but its more to do with how the shows are made & written than the actual characters, but really all I wanted was the book, doesn't even have to involve the characters. Hell even if Penny had just mentioned the book and Sheldon had dismissed it by calling her thick for not realising it wasn't a real book, would have been enough for me.
Sheldon: where can I get a book about the math of friendship
Woolawitz: the math of friendship, what crazy genius thought that up
Penny: ooh I know this one, that cute professor Charles Epps on TV he wrote a book about the math of friendship
Sheldon: my dear Penny Charlie Epps is a fictional character, how do you not know that, the math he uses on that show is awful and would not give anywhere near the result the show claims it does.
Penny: thanks for that Sheldon
Lenoard: you find that Charles cute?
That said CBS could do a event, where the Numb3rs cast spoof BigBangTheory, lets say Charlie, Larry & Anitna get into some BigBang type situations, whilst over on BigBangTheory, inspired by watching Numb3rs, Lenoard sets out to prove to Sheldon that you can solve crime using math, which Sheldon doesnt think you can.
