the BEE GEES!!!

The modern Trek shows, TNG and on, had many episodes where you had a prime plot, and what they called the smaller, B plot. Can you think of an episode where the "B" plot was actually better than the prime story??? And, also, what was your favorite "B" plot of all time???

First thought that comes to mind is the B plot of Meridian. Miles better than the actual story of Dax falling in love and giving up a career and any future Dax hosts in about 5 minutes.

There are a few times durings seasons 4 and 5 of Voyager I found the B plot a little more interesting than the main story. I can't think of many specific examples but I think Revulsion or Day of Honor might have been one of them though. And Neelix looking after the Ambassador in Someone to Watch Over Me.

In Emissary, from TNG, the main plot was all that sappy relationship stuff between Worf and Keh'lar, whereas the B plot was all about those Klingons coming out of suspended animation and being pissed.

Ugh. I second that (in regard to the DS9 episode).

It might depend if your a man or woman...my wife loved all the lovey-dubby stuff between work and keh'lar....I'm with you, I wanted more of the Klingons...

And, isnt that main klingon played by a dude from BSG who played a Borlian Nomen?

Curious...

So men would automatically dislike the romantic stuff of the episode...?

I would be that most men would like the klingon stuff, and more women would like the romantic stuff...just my opinion though...

Having said that, one of my favorite episodes of DS9 was HIS WAY...so, go figure...

No worries, Rob...

Just pickin' on ya'....

I don't think it's men vs. women attitudes toward the romantic stuff. I just think the stronger story should be the A plot. regardless of gender, good story telling is good story telling.

I can think of a few words I'd use to describe the heavy S&M overtones of the Klingon mating ritual in "The Emissary", but I wouldn't have thought to put "sappy" high on the list...

Lance LeGault, yep.

DS9's "Heart of Stone". The A-story was that "Kira" gets stuck in a chunk of crummy looking plastic, and stands around bitching for an hour. Dreadfully boring, and not really saved by the cool twist at the end.

The B-story, was a much more interesting story about Nog wanting to join Starfleet because he doesn't want to end up subserviant like his father.

In Data's Day, if I'm right the "A" story was Data making his report to Cmndr Maddox, and the "B" story was the Romulan spy. If that's right the "B" story was much more interesting.

Oh, please. Worf was a pussy cat!
