He cracks me up. He's funny, mostly, and his scathing reviews of old shitty video games bring back memories.

But I think he has some-kind-of fetish with fecal matter.

Like, really. His newest review has an "animated" piece of poop with his head on it that constantly makes "fart" noises.

It's an illness, I think. I don't know about the rest of you, but poop jokes for me mostly got lame in eighth grade.

^True. Even listen to his theme song. I don't care how crappy a video game is, I still would rather play it than "have a buffalo take a diarrea dump in [my] ear."

He definitely has his hilights. His scene where he and a mechanized Jesus are blasting away at a demonically possessed Super Mario Bros. 3 cartridge had me aching from laughter.

Indeed.

I've shown some of AVGN's videos to my brother and him I just marvel at AVGN ways of using curse words. He almost uses it as an artform and all the imitators I've seen are like someone trying to emulate Picasso or Michelangelo in MSPaint with a mouse that has a lame ball.

AVGN cannot be imitated.

Seen most of his stuff, and the guy is hilarious. he can be uneven, but sometimes his videos are just perfect. My favorite is his review of the Halloween atari game.

His Cinnemassacre movie related videos are good too.

Seriously?

The man's use of profanity in his game reviews (I haven't seen anything else) rarely strays from sentiments like "what a shitload of fuck." That's not an art form. It's little more than laziness, really. It's the Dane Cook school of comedy: "I'm going to say things REALLY LOUDLY, and because they're EXTREME and I CURSE A LOT, it's COMEDY GOLD!"

Sketches like the aforementioned demonic possession of a cartridge are the Nerd's forte and are generally pretty funny, and his general take on bad games is humorous. But his extreme over-use of profanity is a weakness, not a strength.

His explanation of sequels and prequel numbers awes me in its extreme nerdiness. For that video alone he deserves some kind of award.

I'm also pleased that he brought the world's attention to just how horrible the NES 'Back to the Future' game was.


(BTW - Who's the cartoon guy with the black fedora on a yellow background? He did a Mario Wii review that was quite good. He's the only other reviewer I would rate about the Angry Nerd. Mostly because he doesn't copy his style at all and is entirely unique.)
