The Almighty Star Trek Lit-verse Reading Order Flow Chart, Version IV

8of5 has granted me the honors of announcing this update, even though he does most of the work... ;)

The super handy, if increasingly huge, Star Trek Lit-verse Reading Order Flow Chart has entered its fourth revision!

It had been a little over a year, and so this version has all of the post-Fall stuff straight, as well as adding Mosaic to the Voyager backstory (since KMFB says she used it for backstory after Janeway's return) and a couple other small updates and reformattings. No major changes or features, just happily up to date TrekLit goodness...

I hope everyone continues to find it useful!

Re: The Almighty Star Trek Lit-verse Reading Order Flow Chart, Version

Typo in the Voyager first relauch section: "Father Shore" should be "Farther Shore".

Re: The Almighty Star Trek Lit-verse Reading Order Flow Chart, Version

Nice. :bolian:

[Minor suggestion: I would add The 34th Rule to the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine backstory section.]

Re: The Almighty Star Trek Lit-verse Reading Order Flow Chart, Version

Great job as usual guys!

Re: The Almighty Star Trek Lit-verse Reading Order Flow Chart, Version

Other typos: "Greater Then the Sum" should be "Greater Than the Sum." Also, Gemworld is one word. And there's no "The" before Sword of Damocles.

Re: The Almighty Star Trek Lit-verse Reading Order Flow Chart, Version

Yep, it's still awesome. Thanks for keeping it up to date!!!

Hat tip to Thrawn for his fabulous creation :)

Oh dear, all those must have been hanging around a long time! Will fix now!

Re: The Almighty Star Trek Lit-verse Reading Order Flow Chart, Version

Great work! It's always a good resource to track down series in chronological order and take cues of what to read next.

Re: The Almighty Star Trek Lit-verse Reading Order Flow Chart, Version

Thanks for continuing to do this 8 of 5 and Thrawn. It is much appreciated :techman:

Re: The Almighty Star Trek Lit-verse Reading Order Flow Chart, Version

I have turned more than one person onto this flow chart, and they have been very grateful. This is some superb work, guys. Well done.

Re: The Almighty Star Trek Lit-verse Reading Order Flow Chart, Version

This thing keeps boggling the mind. Awesome job you guys!

Re: The Almighty Star Trek Lit-verse Reading Order Flow Chart, Version

Impressive. :techman::techman::techman:

A typo: it's Glass Empires.

Suggestions: What about the anthologies DS9 - Prophecy and Change, TNG - The Sky's the Limit, and VOY - Distant Shores? And the Spock/Vulcan line of Vulcan's Forge, Vulcan's Heart, and the Vulcan's Soul trilogy? And adding in The More Things Change after Ex Machina? And Slings and Arrows? Those six eBooks take place within a relatively short continuous span of time before Star Trek: First Contact. And Invasion!? They're part of the backstory for Tev in SCE - Ring Around the Sky as well as Heather Petersen in DTI - Watching the Clock/Forgotten History.

I thought Slings and Arrows takes place from the first season of TNG through to the last movie?

Re: The Almighty Star Trek Lit-verse Reading Order Flow Chart, Version

That would be the anthology The Sky's the Limit.

Re: The Almighty Star Trek Lit-verse Reading Order Flow Chart, Version

Slings and Arrows chronicles the Enterprise-E's first year of service.

Oh, right, right, looked it up. S&A starts at the launch of Enterprise-E, not the first season. I think I was confusing it with Mere Anarchy which spans decades.

Yeah, my concept for Slings and Arrows -- which I originally pitched to WildStorm as a 12-issue comics series called Enterprise: Year One, but which never went anywhere because WildStorm didn't renew their license -- was that La Forge said in First Contact that the Enterprise-E had been in service for a year, but very little tie-in fiction had covered that year. Indeed, the only novels to cover that timeframe are Ship of the Line and Section 31: Rogue. And given that that year coincided with seasons 4-5 of DS9, which had a lot of stuff going on, it seemed like a good storytelling opportunity. Hence: the Enterprise dealing with changeling infiltration, Leyton's coup, the Maquis, Gowron pulling out of the Khitomer Accords, etc. Plus there was also telling the story of La Forge getting optical implants and Troi reacting to her mother's pregnancy.
