I don't believe it! For the first time in 27 years, New Zealand will attend the Football World Cup.

Sure, we'll probably get annihilated but it's amazing we got there.

If we can swing it, I might be there when they have the cup so might try and attend a game.

Funny how NZ has become a footballing nation overnight when there is no demonstrable interest in the game at all and netball is shown as mainstream sport on the main channels.

I can't wait for the crowing to start, like it always does for the All Blacks, about how NZ will crush any team in their way to take home the 2010 World Cup.

Like the All Blacks, they'll get a nosebleed early on and die under the strain of deluded expectation.

I was listening to 'Live' radio last night (I live on the shore in Auckland) and someone connected to the team was interviewed and was banging on about the Haka and how it should be done before each game, I wasn't sure whether he understood football at all or that it's not rugby.

It's all rather fairweather but on the night, they played well and the keeper had a stormer of a game. And at least it might knock netball of the telly.
