The brilliant 1976 13-part PBS mini-series The Adams Chronicles is coming out on DVD.
If I'm not mistaken, this pre-dated Roots as a mini-series (but not Rich Man, Poor Man).
It stars George Grizzard as John Adams and William Daniels as John Quincy Adams (ironic in that Daniels had starred as John Adams in 1776 a few years earlier).
I remember it as being amazingly well-acted and entertaining. It'll be interesting to see how it holds up after 32 years.
Anyone else remember watching it?
