The 11th doctor's final moments revealed in "Forest of the Dead" ?

I think that when Moffat leaves he'll bookend the River Song stuff so that the next Executive Producer doesn't have to write another River Song story.

The last time I saw you- the real you, the future you, I mean- you turned up on my doorstep with a new haircut and a suit. You took me to Verilian to see the singing towers. What a night that was. The towers sang and you cried. You wouldn't tell me why, but I suppose you knew it was time. My time. Time to come to the Library. You even gave me your screwdriver. That should have been a clue. There's nothing you can do.

Maybe the crying is partially due to eleven knowing that he is dying. The towers singing could be another "Vale Decem" moment.

New suit and a haircut prior to regeneration? What is the Doctor gradually easing his way into his next incarnation?

Though in all seriousness, I wonder if Murray Gold has written the song of the Singing Towers yet?

No, he was crying because of exactly what River said, that he knew he wouldn't see her again and that for River the next stop would be the library and her death.

A Vale Decem moment, perhaps, but for River, not for the Doctor.

Yeah, a stretch to think he's mourning himself when he knows what's going to happen to her.

Moffat Wrote Silence and Forest and planned for River to he his character. I think he'll see her out before he leaves.

We dont know if it is 11, 12 or even 13 that is with her at the singing towers. Why would you assume its 11?

Precisely, if the Sarah Jane throw away line is to believed, it could 582 or 236. (Though Sexy has put a limit on the archived past and Future console rooms in the 20s?)

The tardis saved 30 even though the doctor have changed it 'about' (as he says) a dozen times, leaving about 18 in the future. Still it's not very telling since 11,12 and 13 could have changed it 18 more times as unlikly as it seems. Also when the Doctor does die could someone else concivably use the Tardis after he is gone..hmm

I forget the Library two parter but wouldn't the Doctor be able to visit her mind in the Library computer world, so that he could still be with her after she died?

I don't think he can go into that computer world.

Wasn't the library complely overrun by Vashda Narada in the end, making it unlikely anyone would ever go back?

I keep on coming back to River identifying the Tenth Doctor as being younger than the Doctor she remembered being with. Now of course it's a stretch to suggest that she was thinking of an older Eleventh Doctor back then but that one small scene has always been poignant to me and something i've thought about it since Matt was cast and it was announced River was returning. Whatever the case maybe...Sammy's theory is an interesting one to think about. We do know that at least in River's case everything leads back to the Library world.

Certainly possible River has travelled with/known many future Doctors, however, I always took River's comment about Ten's youth, as being a look in his eyes. Rose healed Nine/Ten after the Time War weighed heavily on him, and he was just out having a great time with his Mate Donna when he met River. Matt Smith, has a whole new set of guilt and heavy burdens built up, and so far, no one has eased that for him, therefore, Eleven, likely would look much older in the eyes, then Ten, despite Matt Smith the Actor being younger than David Tennant.

Well realistically I only see Moffat sticking around for 11

When Smith and Moffat leave, River's story is over. Let the new executive producer make their own series mythology.

I sure hope not. They've got millions of people walking around the planet now!

I thought they were all transported off at the end. I remember Donna's husband seeing her leave and was trying to call out to her until his stammering got in the way and then he got beamed up. The Vashda Narada told The Doctor he had one day. One day to transport them all off, I'm assuming. Oh and "HEY! Who turned off the lights?!"
